Homemade Rice Beer
INGREDIENTS:
Dry Yeast - 25 gms
Rice - 5 cups
Method:
1. Cook 5 cups of rice and spread it evenly.
2. Now, add 25 to 30 gms of dry yeast and mix it well with the rice.
3. Make sure yeast is mixed completely with the cooked rice.
4. Transfer the mixed rice to a air tight container and store it in a closed place for 6 days.
5. After 6 days, open it and add 2 litres of water and close it again. Store it for another 2 days.
6. Now, open it and strain with a cloth or strainer.
Now, your rice beer recipe is ready to serve.
Optional: Add sugar for taste after toddy is ready.

Rice has starch and not sugar. Yeast can convert sugar to alcohol and CO2 but not starch. I wonder how then just by addition of yeast the conversion happened unless there was another intermediate step of breaking the starch to sugars. This is usally done by Aspergillus Oryzay fungus. Does the yeast used have the fungus load or was Raanu tablet used (Raanu is a culture of yeast and the fungi that breaks starch to sugars)?

Starch is sugar bro. Starch is a complex form glucose. U dont need pure refined glucose for fermentation.

We Mizo called it Zufang. 😂😂. And frankly saying, our original traditional beer is much more stronger and sweeter than this. Before Christianity came to our land, we Zo people loved Beer very much. From old people to kids, all of us used to drink beer. We used to make beers from rice, pineapple, banana, etc. And festivals cannot be celebrated without beer. Uhh!! 😭😭 Those were the good old days.

Traditional wine,specially consumed by 'Adivasi' people from whole Chottonagpur plateau with bihar,odisha, cg area. They called it 'Handia'.Coz it’s can ready and store at 'Handi'. Also they used 'bakhar' instead of yeast.Bakhar is prepared from some scrub root which found at our jungle.They collect it and process it. It’s used for fermentation procedure and there are no side effects which Yeast cld. Thnx for share

Regular yeast will give a bready smell which is not too bad. I have wine and champagne yeast at home so I use it instead. Usually regular yeast will have a lower alcohol yield but in this case there is not much sugar anyway so it doesn't matter.

😂😂 In our language, we Zo people called this rice beer as 'Zufang'. 😂😂. Because of this little beer, every night men used to have party and in the morning, every men can see scars and bruises on their body.

If you use baking yeast then taste would not be good and abv will be around 4% . If you use brewers yeast then abv will go around 10% . You can also make wine yeast at home from apple or grapes.

No you can't use regular yeast. It won't turn to alcohol. You need to use Japanese Koji starter or Chinese yeast balls, as they containt yeast and also the necessary fungi to convert the starches in rice into sugar

आपने अपने फार्मूला में चावल का वजन नही बताया,अतः समझ नही आया बाकी यीस्ट का वजन जरूर बताया यह भलीभांति समझ में आगया।दूसरी बात यह कि इस २ लीटर बीयर को कोई १ आदमी सुरक्षित रख कर कितना दिन पी सकता है जिस से वोह खराब नही होगा,बताने की कृपा करें....?
