The biggest take away for me from all of these vids - is to work more tidily! The way he cleans up as he goes along instead of shuffling through a mountain of shavings and sawdust has made me change my ways! 😮

*Very nice.* Consider installing a "foot controlled button" for hands free stops/starts. They are inexpensive, it would protect your finished cuts, and it would be safer.

I enjoy these videos and this person is a real craftsman. However, by the time one buys the expensive plywood, bearings and such, it's probably nearly as cheap to buy a scroll saw from Harbor Freight. But these projects harken back to the 1930's when tools were expensive and people had to make their own from discarded junk and its good to see some still have the ability to do so.

Excellent project with precision engineering of the parts as always. One thing that worries me though, is what happens when the blade snaps. Delicate blades like that do snap often and in this case, that leaves a jagged edge going up and down right next the the operator's fingers.

Scroll saw blades are so thin and springy that when they snap they just sort of buzz against your finger...and if they do, your fingers were far too close to the blade anyway. I buy/break scroll saw blades by the gross and haven't ever been injured by a broken blade. Commercially manufactured saws come equipped with a U shaped blade guard which protects from this theoretical mode of injury but I have found them to be worse than useless and have removed them from every scroll saw I have ever owned.
