If you have the ability and can do so, just add an outside water spigot connected to your water heater... I know not everyone could use this idea but some could. Your only using a small amount of hot water so you shouldn't have issue over taxing the water heater. I run hot water through a cheap electric pressure washer sometimes, You would be surprised how much it helps get stuff clean. My setup is only for the occasional home use, this would not be feasible for a detail shop. For that you would need equipment specifically designed for that application. Good hack! thanks!

I would just install a valve stem which would easily seal once pulled into the hole you drill just like it does on your car rim. Then just use a emergency car compressor that has the clamp style fitting where it attaches to the valve stem.
@donkeydiehard879
@donkeydiehard879 2 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I did. Except I used a shrader valve that has threads from the inside then secure with a washer and nut. Sealed with rtv. A rim is metal so the car valve stem idea won't work because plastic will expand and contract with water temp. I already had a Ryobi cordless tire inflator. I have the one that automatically shuts off when it reaches the set psi. I leave it connected but it only turns on long enough to build pressure up. Not constant like an air compressor. Don't trust that on a $10 Plastic weed sprayer lol.

I’m thinking of building one but the only thing is the efficiency of a Mytee or Sandia extractor seems more worth it. Moving around the vehicle plus they constant pumping and not being able to regulate temperature unless you have get a water heater as a mobile detailer is just a little too much time taking out and not necessarily a waste but you may as well go the extra mile. I currently use a steamer and my shop vac. I’m not sure why they haven’t just created an affordable backpack version of a hot water extractor that would seem more efficient. I’m thinking of just building one from scratch and selling it myself.

Get a DeWalt battery and power wheels converter to hook up the pump to the bucket with air hose running from bucket to pump, pump to exctractor. Turn on. Wal laa. An idea I had... buy one of those immersion bucket heater wands and rig it so it goes into the pump sprayer. Then the water will actually boil inside the pump sprayer to heat your water, potentially it could even pressurize it until it vents???
@noradaly1
@noradaly1 Жыл бұрын
It never boils the water. Heats it pretty hot after a very very very long time. It’s best to put in the temperature you want and then put the immersion heater in the water to maintain the heat. However, you need to cover it as it will only keep the water warm. It will not be able to keep it super hot.

A battery operated air compressor ---like ryobi---that takes the same batteries as your drill would be a very quick pump up on your tank. You could leave the compressor hose connected to the tank and turn it on for 30 seconds to pressurize. I don't understand why you didn't buy a shop vac with a bigger tank. They are about the same price and way handier than dumping every two seats.
@donkeydiehard879
@donkeydiehard879 2 жыл бұрын
That compressor is useless. Save the money and install a shrader valve then by the $50 tire inflator with the set psi on it. Set the psi and anytime it goes below it, it turns on automatically.

@donkeydiehard879
@donkeydiehard879 2 жыл бұрын
@@ocampo23able the suction on a higher horsepower/higher waterlift/higher cfm bigger motor will be significantly stronger. However, those things are a pain in the ass to haul around. Also, if you are using more than a couple gallons on an entire vehicle... You're probably not doing it right.🤷 (More to the other guy than you). I have a Sandia 3 gallon heated spotter I got for $150 used. The small Ridgid has more lift/suction than the spotter does. More than enough for suction for auto detailing. It's still my go to vac.

@fuuraa4765

@@rudothomas2706 yes they are ordered seperately. the only one that comes with the wand is a male thread (im assuming it is since im not familiar with valve names but did a little research since i have an extractor wand) and you probably would need to order the quick connect female thread to hook up the wand. If youre pertaining to the hose itself, there are hoses that comes with a valve attached and some does not. if you cant hook up your hose to the extractor wand even if you already have the quick disconnect valve then your hose probably needs a connect valve. Im not sure whether what im giving you is correct since i dont have the exact image of what youre missing. but to put it simply wand has its own connect valve and hose is supposed to have one as well and youl need another valve to connect both piece together.

That's not much at all. If you buy a $50 Amazon one it will spray water EVERYWHERE.

There HAS to be a cheaper alternative to that upholstery tool. That thing is pricey!!

There is one for about 70 bucks on amazon but it is nowhere near as high quality. Most of the expense comes from the virgin teflon glide that gives really smooth movement and is self healing so if it scratches and becomes rough it will go back to smooth over time

This is a great idea but if you have hot water at your shop then I would just hook it up to your faucet or add a dedicated spigot from your hot water heater.

By the way, dont go TOO HOT with the water, it weakens the carpet glue.

Yeah I don't have time for all that. I'll just grab a RYOBI ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless SWIFTClean from Home Depot and call it a day

My friend has been pleased with this vacuum. I put it together and other than one of the wheels coming back out(which I had a bit of difficulty with) kzbin.infoUgkxnBiz5H40H0BTcRcPDEHZkcV2smSjfUD0 it was easy to assemble. It's worked well and the large size has been handy for vacuuming up sawdust around my friend's tablesaw. The wheels and handle make it simple to move around, so the bulky size isn't overly a negative, unless you're lacking on space. It has a bag that can be used to collect the dust, though it doesn't have to be used. It works perfectly great without it and it is an added expense when replacing the bag. If vacumming water, just leave it out. It comes with various attachments, which are handy. A durable bag attaches to the handle to hold them and I love this feature. It has good power and it's a nice option for a shop vac.
