Homemade Texture Paste with 3 Ingredients, No Glue, Awesome Recipe

Let me share my cheap and good homemade texture paste recipe without glue. This recipe was inspired by my flour base homemade clay. The flour is cheap, easy to get and sticky when it's wet like glue. And I remember that I always use flour and water as paper mache glue. So...yeah..I use flour for paste in this video.
If you notice in my last few miniature fairy house projects, I've been using store bought wall filler which also known as spackling paste or joint compound. They are not really the same but similar effect.
I've tried POP (Plaster of Paris) too but this material dry very fast and doesn't give me enough time to make stone or wood texture.
So, I did an experiment by mixing 1 part of flour + 2 parts of water + 3 parts of Plaster of Paris (POP). The part here is your measuring cup/ spoon/ bowl, etc.
The result is amazing! This is the best and cheapest homemade texture paste I've ever made.
When I applied this paste on cardboard surface directly, it sticks well. I test this on my mini fairy door :)
FYI, the paste take few hours to dry so I have time to make stone texture or wood texture with it.
And....it's hard when it's dry. Perfect!
This homemade paste can be used for relief painting too like store bought modelling paste with thick 3D effect or as sculpting paste. Awesome homemade texture paste!!
I am excited with my new finding and feeling happy that I can share this recipe with you.
I also have some update about this texture paste at my website: www.clay-it-no...
Hope you like the recipe and enjoy watching my video.

This is great if used only on flat surfaces. On jewelry boxes or anything that's bending it's a disaster. I ruined my whole project with this paste. It's crumbling so bad. 😞

Hey hi👋 Amazing ..I need to try this...i made this using all purpose flour glue but not directly with flour. Can i give you a tip? Try to increase the speed a little which will help your audience retention time and KZbin ll suggest it for more viewers.....you seriously deserve more views

Btw, I am wondering how to make all viewers happy with the video speed? I thought you tube has provided a setting to adjust video speed to make it faster or slower. Sometimes I make some videos faster or slower too🤔

All we can do is keep trying...you never know what ll work for you... KZbin is uncertain, there is no formula to make a video work...its difficult to figure out what people want to see...I dont know if speeding the video will 100% work, but there is no harm in trying for couple of videos....It certainly increses average view duration though. But only average view duration is not sufficient, with that the Thumbnail should be attractive which will give you high click through rate. These are few suggestions which can work.

Hi hun, I've worked with plaster of Paris before on a different project. It definitely drives fast. It's strange that this doesn't dry as quickly. I suppose adding the flour must help. either way I'm thrilled with this. I've already got plans for it. Thanks so much for sharing ❤️ I hope you're doing well ❤️ ☺️

Thank you so much for this POP texture paste. Im using POP paste for the mould but in bowl, it dries very fast even with cold water. Now i can try it for the mould. I think it can come off the mould after set. Queries pls. Can i use cornstarch instead of flour ? I am not sure.. And If using glue, what would be the recipe with POP pls. I have stock of glue. I want to use them as well. Pls reply. Thanks a ton

Hi, you can replace the amount of water with glue. I've not tried corn flour yet😁

@@clayitnow okay. thanks. thanks for reply. I guess it would work with cornstarch as well, because any kind of powder would work like gypsum powder, maida powder, potato powder etc.

To avoid thin paper from shrinkage, add more POP for thicker paste.

Have you tried mixing this with acrylic paint? Id like to try it for texture painting. What do you think?
@clayitnow

Yes, I have tried mixing this paste with acrylic paints but the colour looks paler when the paste dry. So, I prefer paint it after the paste dry. Will you try and see if you have different result? Thanks.

POP= Plaster of Paris, quick-setting gypsum plaster consisting of a fine white powder (calcium sulfate hemihydrate), which hardens when moistened and allowed to dry. Known since ancient times, plaster of Paris is so called because of its preparation from the abundant gypsum found near Paris. www.britannica.com/technology/plaster-of-paris
