Tikoy or Nian Gao is a type of rice cake made from glutinous rice flour molden into round shape and steam. This can be enjoy anytime of the year but it is most popular during Chinese New Year celebration. To cook, just simply dip the sliced tikoy in beaten eggs, and pan-fry until golden brown.
INGREDIENTS:
Tikoy:
- 500ml warm water
- 1 1/2 cups plus 3 tbsp sugar
- 500g glutinous rice flour
For Pan- Frying:
- 3 beaten eggs ( depend on how many tikoy slices you are going to fry )
- butter or oil for pan fry
