In this video I talk about Homemade TV Antenna and Boosters TV antenna reflectors. And broad cast TV antenna stations and the kilowatts of the signal strength.

I grew up with analog antennas. I recently got back into antennas & have been experimenting for the past 2 months on what works for me. I bought the $40 compact RCA yagi antenna & added the RCA booster like you showed in your other videos & I'm able to pick up 26 channels. I live in Virginia 60 miles from the Johnson City, TN area. I can pick up a couple of Asheville, NC channels 90 miles away. I wanted that RCA antenna because it also has a reflector. I mounted my antenna on a 20ft mast 50 feet up a steep hill from my house. My situation is different weather wise. When it's a clear sunny day all of my signals are 60% or better. When it's wet & rainy a couple of channels get weak. When I remove the booster I get nothing. Other then that my setup works way better then I expected it to. I even added a Channel Master 3414 running to other TV's & a HDHomeRun Quatro.

Good point. The wrong booster makes a good antenna bad. I just changed my old one out and it made a big difference.

watching your videos is feels a bit like popping my head into a friend's back yard to see what he is up to today! and I like that! Keep up the good work,.... and no need to be shy about making too many videos,...I can watch them as fast as you can make them,...probably,...

Hi Danny ! Great job, only a blind man couldn’t see how well your antennas are constructed. Man they will last forever. That double looks like it can walk the dog and kick the cat lol. Looking forward to here from ya again.

Great job, Danny. How far apart do you put the pieces that hold the whiskers and the copper wires? Is it 8 inches apart? And where do you put the booster? Also if you're making a double antenna, does it matter where you connect the two antennas? I think you said this information is on your other videos, and I'll check them out. Thanks again, and great job!

Hi Danny S Hodges, thank you for all your videos & explanations. I have a tricky set up a few channels are 317° 28.5 miles away. While everything else is between 99° - 167° 6.6 to 9.1 miles from me. I just got your Dual Ultimate Antennas with 1 VHF Add-On for my VHF HI Stations, do you have any suggestions?

Danny, have you tried to add a second set of whiskers to the back side of your ultimate antenna? Just wondering if it would widen the reception area.

Hi brother Danny S, I might every thing is good there. I am coming from Dar es salaam Tanzania to look for your suggestion of how to build HDTV antenna that can have ability of to catch signal from 80 miles away, my target signal is from Zanzibar Tanzania. I bought 1 byone antenna three week ago unfortunately didn't meet target, so please help me to make antenna that can make me to archive it. One more thing is in my area is hard to get cooper wires except 2.5 electricity wire so which will be best option after copper wires!!!??? PLEASE. Many thanks.

Aluminum works very well. You can use romex electrical wire, just strip the insulation off. You can get 10 gauge romex.

Danny if I have 2 antennas can the splitter be in front of the booster?
@JodBronson5 жыл бұрын
You need a Combiner, then after that... Booster.

Let me see if I can explain this. Signal travels at the speed of light. The fastest thing we know. If I quote the speed I know I'll be wrong. What you drew was a radio wave. The distance from the top of one wave to the distance of the top of the next wave is the wavelength. CB is 36 ft between Peaks . As you change channels channel on the TV is a different wavelength. The antennas that you and I build I do Gray hoverman. Because of your video on it. These are very broad banded antennas. Antennas that are not have to be cut specifically to the wavelength. call Residence. That is measured with an SWR meter on a transmitter. I know you have CB background. At the speed of light you will not see a variance in the signal from the top of the signal to the bottom. Whenever you get signal from a long way away on UHF and VHF it's just like skip on CB. uses the ionosphere because it is HF. Charged by the Sun. That's why I skip hardly ever runs at night and if it does it generally to the West where the sun is. UHF and VHF uses the troposphere. closer to the ground. Inversion or on a cloudy day or when it is foggy impossible when it is raining. When the conditions are there or at night I love to turn the antenna I'm in Corpus Christi I can get Brownsville Houston. North San Antonio. I do not have an amplifier I need to get one. I do not have a reflector it's 99% Mother Nature waiting for propagation as they call it
