Try some charcoal in you're burn pot i did that for mine and love it... the oil soak the Charcoal and keep them burning and lots of heat

did you try the charcoal? Also, can you explain the manifold please. As for air flow, I have a shop air compressor. Can I use an auxiliary air tank to provide air flow through the bottom, in lieu of a blower motor? Thanks for the video and for answering all of these questions.

Nice setup. Thanks for explaining the reason for the thin burn chamber. You mentioned cleaning it often. Is that to allow it to vaporize the oil more efficiently?

Yes the cleaner the burn pot is the cleaner and longer it burns

I immediately noticed the Iwo Jima memorial on the back of your sweatshirt and wonder if you are my fellow Marine??? I think I have that same tank for my waste oil heater, and I am told that it is a 100 lb propane tank. It's roughly 45" tall/long and about 15" in diameter. I put it together last winter for a proof of concept and it worked, but I couldn't figure out how to regulate the temperature. I've since then extended the height of my chimney, and am currently making a bunch of mods to it. I wish we lived closer so we could collaborate. : ) I'm in Caldwell, ID, and it doesn't get nearly as cold here as it does wherever you live (and I'm really glad about that!!!). Semper fi, Ted

Use a needle valve for your oil flow, they regulate flow easily.

You may have said it and I didn’t catch it , how often do you have to refill your oil ?
@tylerheimann91810 ай бұрын
It depends on the day. Typically im burning 5 or 6 gallons in a 10 hr day. The reservoir holds about 4 gallons

@tylerheimann918 man you should consider making a atomizer. Makes a huge difference
@raysnediker87219 күн бұрын
Was just thinking maybe you could wrap a coil around the outside of the tank or chimney and and feed some radiators around the shop also the fans that run off the heating
@markmatt91748 күн бұрын
@tylerheimann918 seems like you are overfeeding it oil. 600 F is a bit high lots of wasted heat going out the chimney. I can run mine pretty low & maintain 300 degrees on a pencil lead stream, & 150 degrees with it dripping. Have to regulate the Air Flow down when running low like I do. I have a damper welded into my pipe feeding air between two pipes similar to yours but have the damper in the Fire Feed so I cut back air feeding fire pushes most of the air thru the pipes..

What CFM to the burner do you think would be right? What size of mixing bowl did you use?
@lifesendeavors9 күн бұрын
I think the mixing bowl I use is about 2.5 quarts, it’s 8.5” across and 3.5” deep. I’m not sure what CFM would be best. The blower I’m using is 125CFM. I would probably buy a blower with variable speed so you can adjust it as needed.
@markmatt91748 күн бұрын
@@lifesendeavors add a damper to the Burner Air Feed. Then BIGGER pipe feeding the two thru tubes. Force most of the air thru the heat tubes vs Air for the fire pot. My small fan/blower is maybe 35 to 50CFM of which my Fire Air is shut down to 25 to 50% most of the time. Rest of the air goes thru my 2 tube heaters up at the top like yours. I put a brake rotor on top of my two tubes and 1 on top of the mixing bowl. Contains the heat & forces the fire out to the sides. There is a draft door under the main burn area/fire box on mine. Open it a bit to help drafting as I do t feed enough air into the fire to keep draft up on LOW fire. I think I can run mine 1 drip per Second maintained 150F at the door. Small tiny flame for when it doesn't need it. 2 gallons lasts over 8 hours that way. Forget how long I have that info on my page w build videos

How many Square feet is your shop. I have a 1500 Square ft shop. Would a heater that size heat my shop. I live in Oklahoma, so our winters very rarely get in the teens. My shop Is installed .😊

@@fireguardburntFellow American, I’m trying to help you man. Facts: Every president since the 80s has hit record debt. Trump has raised it more than Biden if that is relevant to you. Taxes are reasonable, comparable to previous years, essential for our various institutions, and are much higher on the wealthy (this is good). Inflation is down, jobs at record high, record us oil, all time record gdp and stocks. It is not too late for you to understand that Biden is the most successful president of all us history. Also that trump attempted to undermine democracy and the will of the people by preventing the peaceful transfer of power by installing himself president after loosing a fair election. Trump also denies climate change, is a rapist, and a business fraud. Friend, all you have to do is look at the facts, not fox misinformation and propaganda.
