New subscriber here. Well done sir! Also, very comforting to see somebody with enough intelligence to understand when to use a respirator. I see soooo many "scholastically challenged" KZbinrs taking no such precautions because they obviously have NO idea what materials they're messing with and what they are breathing in. Sadly, they will find out the wrong way if they continue doing so, even on a semi-regular basis. Especially these "urban explorers" who I've seen uploading videos in which they are literally walking through trails of fallen asbestos from old overhead pipes in abandoned tunnels, etc. No respirators or other protective gear while kicking up & breathing in all that asbestos dust that will eventually kill them in an untimely manner. Sadly most of the people sacrificing their health and/or lives for "clicks" typically appear to be only in their 20's or so. Point being, if your going to start dipping your dumb toes into any kind of new venture, at least take the time to study and learn about the potential hazards associated with any given material and/or era in which a structure or object was produced, so you can mitigate that risk.

The intake air is burned and expelled. You dont want to pull in your warm air from inside and push it outside. Use outside air supply to fuel/oxygen for your heat.

I'm going to build one but add more of a down ward slope to the oil feed line to keep from build up and then feed the oil line through the blower tube as to help pull the oil from the tip of the oil feed cause they can build up with soot in a short time. Good build though
@bentheguru49868 ай бұрын
Not buring clean. Air into combustion pan, setup for rotation and use the incoming airflow to cool the pan outer edges, keep heat in the centre/bottom of pan. Oil feed best dropped from height into the pan away from flame as it will likely burn oil in feed tube and carbonise blocking it. Final advice for anyone building these, all combustian gasses need to be exhausted outside. Waste engine oil contains a lot of nasties to humans and burning it indoors releases these back into the air. Example: We used to have a commercial unit buring our waste aircraft engine oil, I remember all the yellow deposites that would form around the hot air vents until I relaised what they were. The very same yellow deposits I would have to wash off the underside of the engine cowles near exhuast or blast off spark plugs. It was Lead and we in the workshop were breathing that Lead from the oil.

The oil pipe that feed the burner must have 1° slope and I suggest you put the faucet as much as possible at the bottom of the oil tank so you can burn it all. You need also a purge valve at the oil tank bottom so you can clean oil residues that deposit at the bottom. You can cut the upper lid of the burner and mason some thermal bricks inside to store more heat. Well, you can improve a lot :)

Oil control was adjustable down to a hair stream. I would love to see how more efficient a waste oil stove would be if it was attached to a sand battery. At least 100 lbs of sand stored in a metal enclosure attached to a sidewall of the stove. After 4 or so hours, that sand battery should be close to 400 degrees and last for hours after the stove is out. It could cut the oil use in half. But I would to see a real world test of this.

I dont know about your laws, but in most places of the world they will give you a insane fine for this stove. Burning waste oil a lot of times is a very poluting process. Some years ago i built a oil heater but i had tons of problems and judging only by the looks of your i doubt it will work,first you have a huge burning camera(the pot)which will melt when it goes to temperature, but this will never happen because this blower is far too small for the camera.I used old diesel fuel injectors to spray the oil like a mist and the it was burning 100% but i still got thick smoke

Bolje će grijat . Samo ne prejak da ne smeta snimanju. JA ne mogu snimat kad moja radi . I da , stavi još jednu tavicu na čemu će gorjet koju ćeš moći lako izvadit van zbog čišćenja .
