I just got 24 oz canning jars at Ace because everywhere else was out of them. Did you know that pesticides are not used in the cultivation of vanilla beans? When I read that I kicked myself for searching high and low and paying a fortune for organic vanilla beans/extract.

I did not know that! That is great to know, thank you!!!

@@therooteddietitian Also, 1Tahitian vanilla bean = 2 Madagascar vanilla beans in strength. I found that out in Rose Levy Something's ice cream book. I am looking to replace Ben & Jerry's with homemade ice cream. It seems that everything in the world uses emulsifiers and I have recently been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I know Strauss has ice cream without emulsifiers, but they are not DELICIOUS. If I can make my own bread, my own yogurt, my kefir...et cetera, I can make my own delicious ice cream. It's hard to find heavy cream that does not use emulsifiers but Alexandre Family Farms' does not.

@@charmingfrock101 such good info, thank you!! Emulsifiers are in so many items. I am glad you are finding items that work for you, I know it can be a challenge.

Hey Bowan! I have a question 🙋♀️ I really struggle to open the salmon cans with my regular can opener. Any tips or do you struggle to open those cans. They are slightly different than regular cans. Thanks!

Hey! Depending on what brand you get, sometimes you have to turn them upside to open them! The Aldi ones are like this- open it on the side that is larger even if it means opening it upside down. It’s a little wonky! But if I do that, I have no problems. Hope that helps 😊
