Patty, thank you so much for sharing your humble home with me. And for encouraging me to see joy in my ordinary life. I live simply in a cottage in the mountains, and I find joy in the early morning tasks of making coffee, taking care of my family and baking. Doing things around the house that makes living in a small cottage joyful :) what takes it away? clutter! you said it and I agree wholeheartedly :) I am constantly decluttering and just pairing down our possessions, so we can have the room to do what we love in this small house. Someone once said she was romancing the ordinary as she put generic plants in her garden but cared for them in such a way they looked special. I liked that outlook. Making special those things around us that most may overlook. I'd like to try to do that with my days too. Being restless for no good reason can surely rob you of special moments along the way . Ignoring that and being present instead, when you look back those become the most cherished memories. Blessings!❤

Such a restful video. I spend a lot of time doing needlework- sewing, quilting, cross stitch and embroidery. Many for gifts. I also spend the early morning hours with my Bible. I’ll admit, what takes some of my joy away is the endless chaos in the world. It’s always in the back of my mind. By the way, the bread looked delicious. God bless you and your family.

Hi Patty- I have a Gooseberry Patch book! I need to dig it out from my collection. You mentioned you live in SoCal... I do too... about 30 miles north of San Diego, zone 10a. Speaking of our rain, we have a skylight in our hallway so I love listening to the rain at night... almost puts me to sleep. Your zucchini bread looked so yummy. I am so very guilty of getting bothered when I am interrupted, I cherish my alone time, my routine because it’s only a couple of days and when I can get everything done but lose my mojo very quickly if I am interrupted. Also I know it’s my age because I get distracted so very easily 🤦🏻‍♀️ What you shared made me think about one of my favorite movies called the magic of ordinary days, have you seen it. There is so much beauty in those ordinary days if we choose to see it and be grateful. Thank you for the reminder.

Thank you. No pattern. I just drew the size heart I wanted on a cereal box, cut it out and we used that for a template. It was a quick, no fuss project.
