On the 7th September 2014, I visited the Leighton Buzzard Light Railway for their 'Small Engines Gala'. This event was held over the weekend of the 6th and 7th September 2014.
Locomotives to be seen in action from the home fleet included; De Winton 0-4-0VBT 'Chaloner' built in 1871, Kerr Stuart 0-4-0ST 'Peter Pan' built in 1922, Orenstein & Koppel 0-4-0WT No. 11 'P C Allen' built in 1912, Baguley 0-4-0T No. 3 'Rishra' built in 1921. Locomotives visiting the line included; replica Kerr Stuart (made by Hunslet) 0-4-0ST 'Jennie' built in 2008 (visiting from the Amerton Narrow Gauge Railway), Wilbrighton 0-4-0VBT No. 2 'Paddy' built in 2008 (visiting from the Amerton Narrow Gauge Railway), Bagnall 0-4-0ST 'Woto' built in 1924, and Andrew Barclay 0-4-0T No. 9 'Jack' built in 1925.
Locations include; Shenley Hill Road Level Crossing, Vandyke Road Level Crossing and Appenine Way Level Crossing.
Highlights to be seen include; the double heading of 'Jennie' and 'Peter Pan', 'Woto' and 'PC Allen' double heading, No. 2 'Paddy' with a freight train, the log train worked by 'Woto' and then later in the day by 'Jennie' and 'Peter Pan' double heading. No. 9 'Jack' also made an appearance towards the end of the day.
