Thank you. This is possibly the most helpful bread machine video I've seen. Most people watching this video is because they are new at baking bread and want to learn how it's done. So I can really appreciate all the thorough explaining. I disagree when people complain that you talk too much. For me when people go off topic, like chat about getting their hair done or taking the dog for a walk, etc. is when I'll say, okay now that's talking too much.

Newbies should be aware that some pans twist into place inside the maker. If they have one of them, then pushing down, or wiggling and yanking up, will only cause frustration. I only say, because there was no mention in the video, and this video was expressly for newbies.

I tried your recipe for the first time a little earlier and i gotta say wow. I have struggled with making bread in my bread maker with not much success but i kept trying. This came out so well it didnt go flat or dense like mine normally does. I followed recommendation to cook on medium colours but i found that was to dark for me and the bottom end was a little to crispy but i have to say the loaf didnt last long. So tomorrows loaf will be a lighter colour. Thanks for a wonderfully easy and delicious recipe

Thank You! This is so helpful. I just got a bread machine, it's the type with 2 things at the bottom to mix it, but my bread was just awful. I've made bread for years and this dough looked more like a batter. I was following the directions in the book. I had no idea that there is yeast for bread machines here, I haven't been able to find it. I'm in Norway and so far I have just found reg dry yeast, one for sweet breads, I have no idea the difference, and then the cake type. The bread tasted OK but it was pretty sorry looking. I ended up feeding the birds outside with it. So thank you again for this video.

Cutting the slices that way might be good for households with small children but this is not the size most people are used to eating, for say a sandwich. The reason I watched this video is I have a bread machine like yours, and haven’t used it in 5+ years, you explained it very well, the only thing I would not do is to cut it your way. I’ll wait till the loaf cools completely and then lay it on its side and use the serrated knife to cut slices, or use my bread slicing form I bought, it’s made of wood andirons cuts my sandwich style slices that I have enjoyed having for some 60+ years. Thank you for making this nice video. It has helped refresh me with my brand of bread maker and just how to put the ingredients in order. Thanks again for both of the recipes you give and the alternate amounts of yeast and the description of which yeast you use what amount for which yeast. This was very informative and friendly in nature😄😋

I believe that this 3 cups measurement is where alot of people are going wrong. You need 15 Oz of flour for a 1.5 lb loaf. 3 cups is only 13 and a half oz. You will need 3 and a quarter cups of tightly packed flour to get close to that amount !

1st thing I would check is to make sure that the kneading blade and baking pan is inserted correctly. If not, then your bread will not be mixed properly. 2nd thing I would check is your dough consistency. If it's too dry, add a lil liquid. If it's too wet, add a lil flour.

You need the yeast when making bread so that it will rise. If you don't do yeast, then it will come out hard and thick. You can try it, and see if you like the result. But if you don't want to use yeast, you may have to do some research on what your options are.

Thank you for your video! During the winter storm (2021) we were all confined to the house and ran out of bread! For my first time making bread, it came out perfect, smelled great and tasted perfect. When pouring liquids, you want to use a liquid measuring cup. When measuring the flour, you want to use a measuring cup for solids. They are different and you want to use the correct measure utensil for the item so that it will be accurate. 1 cup of liquids is equal to 240 ml.
@n5uge124 жыл бұрын
Good point. Thank you for pointing that out.
@alankauth4 жыл бұрын
To be as accurate as possible, you measure by weight, not by volume. But volume is so much easier. By weight it is exact every single time. Volume can vary depending on how packed the ingredients actually are.
@MyTinyKitchen4 жыл бұрын
@@alankauth Yes, that is true. However most beginners don't have a food scale to go by, but they usually have measuring cups so I've found it easier to use measuring cups and explain the difference between them.

At what point could you remove the dough just long enough to take out the blade from the pan so the blade doesn't become embedded in the bread when it's baked?
@MyTinyKitchen6 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I haven't tried that. I've always let the bread machine do its whole sequence, and once the bread is baked and pulled out, I let it cool slightly so I don't burn my fingers when taking it out, but don't let it cool completely as then it's harder.
@dianearthurs20146 жыл бұрын

Well done for wanting to remove the paddle. Many people do not know this. You remove the paddle at the end of the second rising. You will hear the machine giving the second punchdown . . . The time on the display will read between 1 : 50 and 1 : 40.

If one bakes a lot, you can buy yeast by the pound online (Amazon.com and the King Arthur Flour website are 2 good resources). I keep the yeast in the freezer until I'm ready to open the bag, and then transfer the contents to a small plastic container (f.ex., Rubbermaid or Tupperware) for refrigerator storage.
