Fill, I just want you to know that you inspired me. I have elderly neighbors that hadn't had their lawn mowed yet, and the grass was 5 feet tall in places. I checked on them, and it turned out that the person who had been mowing for them never showed up this season. I initially thought I could mow for them, but it turned out to be too much for me (I'm a senior citizen and can just manage my own lawn). I found a young man just starting out his business who could take on the job. Thanks to him, years of poor mowing (a couple of feet of packed down dry grass) have been corrected, saving this nice couple from a city citation and maybe even saving their lives, as it gets very dry here all summer and all that tinder could easily ignite from a cigarette carelessly discarded. Thanks for your inspiration.

@@fillslawncare I agree it does look nicer bagged, when I studied horticulture though, the reason for NOT bagging is that the fanned out cuttings ( not clumps) provide nutrients back to the earth while feeding the growing grass and giving moisture. Awesome job and work ethics!

My Grandpa had a big ol' Craftsman edger/trimmer that wasn't working so he had it out for trash pickup. I asked if I could have it (I was 9 at the time) early 60's, he said 'why?' 'it doesn't work!' I said I wanted to see if I could fix it. He said if your mom and dad say you can have it then ok. They said ok and after getting it home I took it apart, fixed some loose and a broken wire, oiled what I thought should be oiled and it worked again! We had it for the next 15 years. Of course I had an ulterior motive, it was my job to edge with the old push type edge with the toothed wheel and trim along the fence with the old hand clippers so fixing that beast up made my work a whole lot easier!!!! Love watching your vids, you pay attention to nice details and the results are the proof!

I just recently started watching you mow. You are the only one I've seen rake and use a push mower alot. Also, you weed wack, then edge, then mow. That makes more sense to me,,, In that order. I would blow down last only because I would have a mess every where if I didn't. Ha. But I see Your logic. You do awesome work by the way. I would choose you to be my lawn man. I love your work. Well done and I may only be an armchair lawn mowing aficionado only but I’ve noticed a pattern. The guys that have the large zero turns or riding/standing type really aren’t interested in doing the work to get a nice bagging job. In many cases I don’t think they have the equipment to bag with those mowers and they don’t want to get off and walk. There is no way a big rider could come in and blow it around five times and get the good job that you just got on that overgrown lawn. If I’m paying the big bucks I definitely want it bagged and if they don’t like to walk they should buy the equipment to bag with their big riders! Just my opinion, armchair aficionado that I am!

If you don’t want the contract because you’re not willing to do that, it’s your business just as much as it’s my business that I require it bagged. If your competition next-door is doing a lot of bagging and you’re on bi-monthly with longer cuts I predict the bagger is going to suddenly become more popular and questioned if he can take new contracts after the clients have viewed the results side by side.
