Bad?...
@DellaStreet1234 жыл бұрын
In those earlier episodes, Homer is culturally stuck in the 70s -- think of the car he designed, with shag carpeting and tail fins. Or his claim that rock music reached its peak in 1974. And even back then Homer didn't go to college, all he knows about college life is over the top stuff like Animal House and the li ke. By the time he actually goes to college, it's the late 90s and the Dean is a laid-back guy who used to play bass with the Pretenders. And with no squares to rebel against, college students have no need to be rebellious.

+ThatsSoNathan Seeing Dean Bitterman growl angrily before a bra fell on his head was funny! He's truly the stereotype of a College dean!!
@alvexok55236 жыл бұрын
Bitterman is definitely a stereotype of the miserable uptight deans in those raunchy 1980s college movies like "Porky's" and "Revenge of the nerds", and is exaggerated for comic affect. And the very easy going, "just one of the students type", very understanding Dean at the college Homer goes to is a signal that shows how real life deans aren't as miserable and uptight as movies make them out to be, but Homer's dean's niceness is also exaggerated for comic affect. Real life deans are probably somewhere in-between Bitterman and the cool, chill Dean at Homer's college.

Love that part! Everyone in class just staring at Homer as he loses it.

They should've also put in the earlier part where the Professor says "out with the old, in with the nucleus", all the students laugh and Homer just sits there with a blank face.

Legitimately my favourite episode from The Simpsons. The jokes are memorable, I often quote so many lines from this episode alone. Pure brilliance from this time in The Simpsons

I consider this my favorite episode, in there's a joke every second and all of them works perfectly, also the Homer philosophy of that college it's exactly how it looks in 70's-80's its pretty hilarious.
