Homer refusing to take a bribe, not because it's against his ethics but because he thought Burns was flirting with him, will always be a stroke of comedic genius.

Mine too, I don't really like alot of the simpsons stuff, But everything with his brain is the best comedy ! , It makes the rest of the show so much better because it explains how it's actually everybody else slowing homer down, but he's just happy to be loved (case in point, The crayon episod).
@DESUKASHI
@DESUKASHI Жыл бұрын
@@coldfusionstormgaming1808 i actually forgot that homer is technically a stunted genius, maybe that explains why his brain or inner voice seems so smart. It's his intelligence, it's there he just can't get it to come out? Or maybe the crayon caused a split personality, basically trapping smart homer inside dumb homer. That would make sense seeing that they argue/disagree sometimes. Then again, i disagree with myself too sometimes. I'm definitely overthinking this, the human mind is a weird place.

'Eat the pudding' actually makes a lot of sense in context. Homer's been out on his own and is unkempt and famished, and we all know that it's very hard to focus on anything other than food when you're that hungry. Homer's brain is focusing on immediate needs, and long-term complex topics can wait until it's got some fuel to think with.

@@itsaguinness Quite the contrary, this episode is significant in that many mark it as the beginning of the show's decline in quality into the hell that is mediocrity, and would never again reach the heights of its former glory. Even Harry Shearer, the voice of Principal Skinner, recalled that after reading the script, he told the writers, "That's so wrong. You're taking something that an audience has built eight years or nine years of investment in and just tossed it in the trash can for no good reason, for a story we've done before with other characters.
