​@@jlv3x You don't know Chicagoland real estate, then. The suburb is southwest of the city. As much as I may agree with you on the price, it will go quickly. Not far from Midway airport, close to tollway, schools are good, solid upscale,-middle class community; crime rate is low. No. This community has all the markings of what a family wants in a community. It'll sell, and fast.

The bedroom door accessing the backyard is ideal for a short term room rental. You can put a lock on the other door to block access to your home. Thats what I would do with that room.

I like the 2nd house with the exception it doesn't have a basement or so it appears, but I like it the space and everything. I also just wish that the backyard was fenced off.

The first house looks like a decent home, but the door in the bedroom was weird, especially when there was another door going to the outside.

@@bigvalley4987 Thank you for your reply. Four of my colleagues who each happened to be from Chicago mentioned the extreme weather as the reason for needing a basement. I was seriously considering moving to Chicago until they mentioned the tornadoes and be sure to have a basement.

I'm from Detroit, and the majority of homes here have a basement...it's strange to see one without a basement, but as @turtlehead2 said...more space and entertainment. Some basements have pool tables down there...would you put one up stairs in the living room or dining room?

I THOUGHT THAT HOUSE #1, WAS OKAY. I DIDN'T LIKE THE BEDROOM WITH THE BACK DOOR. THE BATHROOMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN UPGRADED. THE FURNACE IS OLD, AND WHEN YOU HEAR THE DRIP DOWNSTAIRS, THERE'S A PROBLEM. HOUSE #2, THE FLOORS SHOULD BEEN REPLACED, THE BATHROOMS ALSO SHOULD BE UPGRADED I DON'T LIKE ALLEY, PERIOD. I DO LIKE THE KITCHEN AND THE LAUNDRY ROOM, AND THATS IT!

@ Oak Lawn is a beautiful neighborhood. It’s actually very quiet and it’s family oriented. I’ve lived here for 6 years now and I don’t regret it at all. Nobody bothers you. Of course you will hear little things happen here and there. But not often. Most people work and go home and mind their business. Lots of great restaurants and plenty of shopping. It’s affordable.
