Did they redo the safety curriculum? Maybe I just overlooked the readers. I bought the unit the year before last and haven't completed it yet. I also have the maturation, as well. Planning to do both this year! I also have an 11yr old. In addition, I've been eyeing the kind kingdom 😊

We did the safety unit when my 8 yr old was in 1st grade and he was not ready so definitely it's good to know what your kids are up for or not. I am not even talking about the sexual topics, we did the fire safety and he didn't sleep for a week because it had just never occurred to him really that we could have a fire burn our house down. I put it away for later! I'm interested to hear how you like the maturation unit when you've done it. My boys aren't there but I'm always thinking of the future.

Our daycare spoke to our older kids about safety from abuse and I’m greatful they did as they did it age appropriate!!! They where at a Christian daycare!!! We used the old safety unit and my husband loved doing it with our older kids!!! We do elementary writing tasks for my older kids and expect more from them!!!

The journals are very loose on the grades. My almost 5 year old does the 3-6 grade journal just fine and my 9 year old does the older journal. I believe they did these journals like this bc they are coming out with the younger science for little hearts and hands.

Deff don’t think it’s too early to start those kinds of talks with kids. If anything we wait too long to discuss sexual topics.

I was thinking the same thing. I think it’s better to talk to them and teach them the truth before they get curious and want to explore. But that’s just my opinion of course.
