I don't follow other homeschooling pages (I think I only follow yours because it is by far the most realistic I found and relatable. I also have an only child). I post about gardening on IG. I don't use FB anymore. I stopped uploading on my booktube channel because I absolutely do not have time while homeschooling. I do scroll because I feel I need it. But I try to time myself as much as possible!

Thanks so much for this video. I definitely struggle with comparing and not feeling like I am doing enough in my homeschool after looking at social media sometimes.

I hear you! As a creator I have revisit my thoughts at times to let myself know all these things are invading my life. I am still training myself to post things and setting times to check back because it can become too much it you are constantly on it.

Thanks for being just a regular mom. The next person who tells me there 4/5 year old reads Charlotte's web by themselves...I'm going to go insane

I’ve stopped watching most of the homeschool KZbinrs that I used to watch. I would feel inadequate and compare my kids to theirs. Their kids would sit around reading all day, be engaged in lessons, etc. I’m homeschooling 4 boys and that wasn’t happening in my house. My husband told me I needed to stop comparing myself to these people online because most of what they show isn’t real. And for some, it feels like their videos are just based around whatever sponsor they have for that video. Which..great! Get that $$! But, it made it feel so disingenuous to me. I shouldn’t have let myself compare so much. After all, I’ve been doing this for 12 years and I will graduate my oldest this year. We’ve done just fine!
@blessedhomeschoolmess20 күн бұрын
@@audreymcnair350 I’m so sorry you have felt that way. And I completely understand I too don’t watch many anymore myself. I also don’t do many sponsorships because it doesn’t feel right to me and I truly only utilize what I love and like to promote what I love genuinely 🩷 be you mama that’s all you need to be no need to compare I know easier said than done

Our homeschool day is not Instagram perfect and I can bet their’s isn’t either. It’s all so fake.

I'm not a content creator so I don't have those pressures, but basically every single homeschooling youtube video makes me feel like a failure. Everyone else has it together or is doing cool curriculum or is having a joyous time... but not us.
