We just started a morning basket this year because I'm now homeschooling two kids--- my boys are K and 2nd grade. It's pretty simple, we just go over our verses, their Awana lessons, memory songs (Animaniacs States & Capitols, Schoolhouse Rock Preamble, books of the Bible), and we will soon incorporate CC memory work. Our first day of CC community is tomorrow and I'm SO excited! Thanks for this video. I think my boys will really enjoy the resources you mentioned.

We are a CC family as well (and we also incorporate some Leadership Education). These are great recommendations and I will be checking them out because we are in cycle 3 right now. So thanks! I also loved you in the Think Media Challenge on Facebook a couple months back. Our homeschool is geared toward entrepreneurship, as my kids are older now and are showing a penchant for that. Do you have any homeschool videos about that?

I like the Draw the USA book. That's a really good idea to become familiar with geography!

We're definitely going to start that thankful journal...I think we're going to incorporate that next school year. 😊 Thanks for the curriculum suggestions!

I highly recommend it! I just went back the other day and looked through ours from last year and it made my heart melt to see all the joy in the last year that my kids wrote down. :)

Thanks so much for this! Our homeschool is so scattered because mornings are all over the place. We use the full A Beka video curriculum for my oldest son, who is in K5 and we absolutely love it. We're in a hard stage because my 4 y/o (just turned 4) son is high-needs, doesn't play well alone, and is very disruptive. He's the kind of kid who needs activity and attention or he'll find something in the house to get into. I usually read to them every morning while they're eating breakfast because for 5 minutes they're still and paying attention. Do you still go out and exercise first thing in the morning? Thanks to one of your morning routine videos, we started going for a quick walk every morning this year, but weather has been challenging lately. OK I'm done rambling. LOL. Thank you very much for sharing what works for you!

hello hello! I'm so glad this video blessed you :) Yes! I still get out every morning. I find that it really helps them focus ones they get some fresh air and some wiggles out. Lately we've been doing yoga together on the back porch bc my work schedule has been so crazy. But still getting it in. :)

I've been wanting to start a morning basket! Right now we have lots of books on the back of the toilet, but none in baskets! LOL We do unit studies, so perhaps I would put books in that pertain to what we are currently studying? We're currently reading a library book about a boy in the Andes mountains, because we are learning about South America. I love read-aloud / snuggle time. 😊

A Beautiful Horizon hey! Yep seems like your already doing it! Congrats :) We are a huge family read aloud fam too. My favorite memories are from our snuggle times.

I was homeschooled and reading with my mom and siblings are some of my fondest memories too. I mostly remember reading the Bible and the Little House on the Prairie series before bed. 😊

Elizabeth P. I Elizabeth- welcome. A morning basket is something we really enjoy doing together. It helps get the subjects or interest in that we would normally skip over.

Thanks a lot for this video! Do your kids do the thankful journals on their laps or at the tables? Do they stay at one place in the house for the whole morning basket routine?
@HeatherTorresTV3 жыл бұрын
they do thankful journal all over. Sometime they are at the table or in their room or on the couch or in the backyard in the Hammack.

Hi Heather! I have a question about classical conversations that I'm hoping you can help me with: if you're familiar with the good and the beautiful curriculum, do you think it could be combined with being enrolled in classical conversations? In other words, could we be a CC and use TGTB?
@HeatherTorresTV6 жыл бұрын
Hi Julia. Yes - you could do them both together. TGTB will provide you with enhanced learning to what they are learning in CC.

We use TG&TB Kindergarten Language Arts curriculum and we are in CC also. They work well together :D
