Homeschool Spelling Connections isn’t working! What are we doing for spelling?

We also have had a harder time finding a spelling curriculum that works. I went to a homeschool conference and heard Andrew Pudewa talk about his way of spelling and it just made sense to me. My girls are thriving with this curriculum, we are so glad that we have found something that works for us 🤩

I'm with you. Spelling Connections wasn't as great as I wanted it to be, but it is getting the job done around here. So we will stick with it for the time being. Thanks for sharing!

Interesting! I’ve never really looked into Horizons! My middle started All About Spelling Spelling this year. Level 1 is easy for her so far but I figured I would start there with her. My oldest is using IEW Phonetic zoo. She basically just tests over words each day and can move on to the next list when she has gotten 100 twice.

Spelling is a little wearisome for me and I observe my little one feels the same way, but for us we have it integrated in our TGTB Language Arts curriculum. I like that it's not overwhelming. It's just basically sprinkled here and there. I agree children learn spelling naturally by reading and being exposed to language activities. 🙌☺️

Have you ever tried all about spelling? We’re going switch to that next year. For now we dropped Zaner also and just using the free spelling workbook off good and beautiful to try to be more budget friendly

I ordered Spelling Connections a couple of months ago and immediately decided against it. As soon as it was in my hands I could see that it wouldn't work, which is odd since I had loved the online sample that I saw.
