"Auntie Mame" is one of my favorite movies and the main character's idea of having her nephew keep a notebook to jot down his questions was a lifesaver with my oldest as they rarely had anything to do with what we were working on at the moment. My youngest is also very inquisitive, but the situation is different now that it's only the two of us--so much more time available to follow her rabbit trails as hers seem to be more directly related to what we were doing at the moment. My middle was very inquisitive, but she was the type who liked to follow the rabbit trail herself and then present her findings to me.

This hit home, we will be trying the wonder book idea. I also use the notes section on my phone to note down questions I can answer off the top of my head when we are out and about. Thank you for sharing on this topic.

All of my kids are inquisitive but this describes my oldest. I always assumed it was related to his ADHD. Offering to find a documentary or book on something is definitely the easiest way to redirect the conversation for us.

You are talking about my middle child ❤he just turned 5 and he’s constantly asking questions. Sometimes it’s on topic but other times it’s all the way in left field. I’m trying to figure out how to navigate this because sometimes it can be more challenging than you would think. I want to encourage questions but doing that is difficult when there’s so many questions haha! I’ll take all the tips!
