These look awesome. I remember that as a child, I was such a great reader that I didn't slow down enough to always comprehend what I was reading. So it is definitely on my mind homeschooling Caris. We went through All About Reading for 4 years and this year, we are trying Language Lessons for a Living Education for the first time. I'm hoping it works out, but I think the comprehension books could probably be used on top of it.

We start all our kids off going through Phonics Pathways, it has been a great foundation for the reading. Definitely some kids pick up reading faster than others. Our oldest reads constantly, but the younger ones I have to be pushed or encourage more with reading. I do like how this reading comprehension is daily -- so that way we never put it off M-F. Definitely!! I am glad it was helpful! Yes, these books are a great addition for something extra to work on at home with your kids (even if they already go to school). I would definitely recommend supplementing it with something else, as this is not a complete reading curriculum. We don’t necessarily do anything formal with reading be on this, once our children learn how to read. I just find that it’s a great way to keep me accountable to sitting down daily, five days a week, and having my kids read out loud something to me. Hope this is helpful! Hello, thank you for this video! Are the stories a mix of fiction and non-fiction? Also, what do you use in addition to these for your language arts curriculum? And what other reading comprehension have you used? Can you compare it to Reading Skills by Harcourt? I am new to homeschooling this year and my 4th and 2nd grader lack reading comprehension skills and looking for something strong in that area.

I am glad this video was helpful 😀 Yes the stories are a mix of fiction & non-fiction - sorry I should have mentioned that in the video 😮 I am not familiar with Reading Skills by Harcourt - so I can't compare unfortunately. The only other reading comprehension my kids do is in their Vocabulary workbooks -kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6nKgZmLqbCgnJI (they have a section of reading comprehension at the end). Hello, i just saw your video, I have a couple of questions, is the book your showing in the video the teacher guide? Do i need to buy a student book on the side? Do you recommend I buy the level based on grade or go to a lower grade level? Do I need to pair this with he writing and language curriculum? Thank you in advance sorry i have so many questions

Hello Erica, no, there’s no teachers guide that go along with these books, nor do you need a separate book for the student. Basically, it’s all in one, and the reading comprehension for the kids along with some helpful tips for the teacher along the way the beginning of each week. There are answers in the back of the book for each question. I always go along with whatever grade my kids are in that year, but if your child has been tested and they are below or above, you can base it off of that but I recommend just sticking with the actual grade they are in. Yes, I always have other things that I have my kids working on, writing, language, arts, etc. but I don’t necessarily pair it with this particular book. Hopefully I was able to answer your questions.
