I'd also like to thank you for your transparency and like you even more for this video. You're already a lifesaver to a 1st year tutor! I have autoimmune, diagnosed this year and battling with diet and supplementation and acupuncture with success (it's not known whether remission can be achieved with this certain method but my numbers are greatly improved) I listen to Dr. Brad Shook online and read and follow Dr. Amy Meyers. There are fb groups on autoimmune recipes, etc. Just search there for others in our boat and be encouraged how much can change through clean eating, clean drinking and stress management. I feel like God helps us as we help ourselves and he's already given wisdom in his word to encourage us this very same path, towards health. Love and prayers,

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, too. And this past summer I got Lyme Disease/Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Thanks for making this video. I look at your videos almost every week for helping with my tutoring of our CC five year old class. Best blessings to you.

Hi! I am a CC tutor and have loved all your videos, so thank you for those. Thank you also for this one and your vulnerability in it. I have a resource to share with you. I also have an autoimmune disease - Hashimoto's. When I was first diagnosed I read the book The Immune System Recovery Plan by Susan Blum. It is a great resource. I have a background as a Registered Dietitian, so I'm super skeptical about a lot of the diet books out there. This book is a good one. She gives some practical steps, for example I have found that cutting out gluten from my diet has been really helpful. I've heard from people with RA that cutting gluten out has helped them, too. You may already be doing that, but if you haven't read this particular book maybe it would be helpful with some ideas for managing your symptoms. Thank you again for all you do!

This encouraged my heart today! Sharing with other mamas who need to hear it, as well! Did you ever end up posting a follow-up video? Do you have an update on how you are doing now? Sending lots of love, thanks, and encouragement from another CC tutoring mama who has been blessed by your ministry here!

My youngest son who is 4 years old is home school and has recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, his is VEO (Very early onset) IBD (irritable bowel disease) to which he requires every 4 weeks Envityo infusions. So simple go to home schooling right now and we use LeapReader materials on his not so great days and when he was inpatient for an entire month.

Girl, I knew when I found your videos it was a god send! To say the least!! You have been a huge blessing to me! I’m also a 1st yr tutor, have been dealing with thyroid issues for 12 yrs, and have felt so horrible this school year with so many health, digestive, & body ache issues. I have spent as much time at the Dr’s offices as I have home so this year has been a challenge to say the least! Dealing with Health issues, no matter what they are, as a homeschooling momma is harsh! Keep strong and know it’s ok to rest is my motto although the rest isn’t coming often enough. Was your surgery last month to help with this or thyroid? I am on the bench with so many suggestions from specialist. Praying for you & your family.

As a first year tutor, I am so incredibly thankful for your videos each week and this one almost has me in tears. Your transparency is such a blessing to me and i'm sure to many other mamas! It's easy to assume other homeschool mamas have it all together as we only see glimses into their lives and with social media it's easy to focus on all the good and not see through to the daily struggles. I suffer from migraines and mental health struggles and I feel like such a failure some days. I have had all the same thoughts about public school and questioning if I'm cut out to be a homeschool mama but I know God has called me to this journey and He will equip those who are obedient to His calling. These struggles are a reminder that in our own strength we will fail but He will use these circumstances to cause us to depend on Him even more! Thank you again for speaking up. This was like warm soup for a weary mamas soul!! Praying for you!

Christy B Oh sweet mama I am so humbled by your words! I have struggled with mental health too and it’s so not fun. I think at the end of the day we’re all just moms trying to do our best to love our kids and keep them safe and when we can through a life raft out to another struggling mom it makes it worth it. While I wouldn’t have asked for my health issues I am thankful for them- they keep me on my knees and keep life in perspective! Prayers for you- don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need an ear!

Mrs. C, first of all, thank you! I watch your video every week as I plan my tutoring. That you are giving so much while you are not feeling your best shows what a loving and selfless person you are! I just wanted to share briefly my story... I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition (Crohn’s) when my kids were 3 and 5. We were just at the beginning of our homeschooling journey. They are now 12 and 14 and I have been in full remission for about 6 years through diet and lifestyle alone. Basically we follow a Paleo diet. I started blogging about it so that I could help as many people as possible get out of the cycle of flaring. I’d love to talk with you and share some insight if you’re interested. Autoimmunity can be so tricky, but there is hope!

You have been such an incredible resource for tutoring ideas! I am so thankful for you! Thank you for sharing all these ideas and for being so real and transparent! I will be praying for your healing. I found out I have low thyroid so I am just starting to learn what I need to do to feel better. Would you be willing to share all the match-ups that you've found? This is my 2nd year homeschooling our 4 littles and I too feel called to this and welcome any help during this season.

Melanie Harmon Thank you for you kind words! All of the match-ups I’m using can be found on CC Connected. Just looks up “Indescribable” for the science devo match up and “Magic School Bus” or “Story of the World.” www.choosy-mom.com/ is also a great resource for TV episodes that correspond with memory work! You can type in a week and it will list the episode and where to find it (Netflix, prime, etc.) And lastly I use halfahundredacrewood.com’s book lists for when we go to the library. Hope this helps!

I appreciate you so much! I have been following all year. A first year tutor full time. I subbed last year. Unfortunately, we start back before you guys, so I will miss you in the spring. 😢 I have been struggling with expectations & my kids not cooperating. My daughter is the one that has health issues, so we are constantly at doctors, and she is on meds that make her drowsy, so it has been extremely hard, especially since this year she told me she wanted to do Memory Masters, 😢 but I just don't see how it can happen. Also, we have been trying to change our diet, so that has been a struggle. Maybe I should watch your clip on meal planning. Anyway, I just wanted to say I appreciate you so much!!!😍

I love the idea of focusing on 3 things. That is a great way to not get overwhelmed!
@lovemrsc845 жыл бұрын
Hannah Sockwell Yes it is so helpful for me. There are not only so many things I need to do, but want to do as well, that if I let myself dwell on it I end up wanting to crawl into a hole and just eat chocolate. 😂

nemises79 thank you! I’ve got a good doc and I think we have a handle on things, but it will take a while for my body to heal. I’m thankful for the constant reminder of my dependence on Him though!

Came here looking for cycle 2 videos! I’m sorry for your health issues 💔 Please look up dr. Brooke goldner’s KZbin page! She’s a life savor for me! I’ve been dealing with Lupus, but I’m on a path of healing because of what she teaches. She doesn’t sell anything. She offers all her knowledge for free! I hope you find her as helpful as I have 💜

So grateful for this! Thank you for sharing and encouraging us! Can I ask where you find all those "matchups" you referenced? Indescribable, Magic School Bus, books, etc...
