This is just jaw dropping stuff Uncle Larry. You and the people you are so connected to are not just amazing in their craft, but this spirit of sharing, supporting, promoting those around you is something else. What your friend is offering is really a steal at this kind of price. Thank you so much, you will never know just how much you have enriched this old guy's life out here in rural Oregon.

Uncle Larry, you're just the best. What a shocker that everyone in Nashville loves you. I don't care if I'm in the first 10 or the first 100. Getting to be on the inside will be so cool. What a prince you are for helping John get going on it.

In 24 hours we’ve been treated to this and Rick Beato’s Abbey Road video. YT is the greatest media on the planet. Apart from all the bots, con artists, shysters, trolls and videos of people’s cats!🤣 Thank you Tom, just superb content. 🙏

I’m just a guitar player from CLE., that has played in cover bands since 1972, but I’ve always loved the technical side of music and gear. This is great stuff Tom. I recently watched Beato’s tour of Abbey Road Studios. I was enthralled. Thanks ‘Buk’. Btw, that thing with numbers at the end. I see 1234, or any combination several times a week. I’ll wake up at nite, it will be 3:45, or 1:23, or 12:34. Something about consecutive integers I see a lot.

I just subscribed to Inside Blackbird. I say this all the time but, holy shit, the amount of world-class, no-bullshit information we have access to these days? I think about being 14 in rural Ohio, scanning the pages of fucking Hit Parader or some shit, trying to glean off ANYTHING that was real world and useful... Man, that kid would have been so fucking excited to know all the conversations he would eventually get to hear. Thanks, Tom, for contributing to this Blackbird thing. And, not for nothing, it's not lost on me that you shared six hours of your life (between the Homeskoolin' episode, the video with Mr. McBride, the Gruhn's video and the three-plus hour session with Guthrie on the Wook's Twitch stream) with us in a SINGLE FUCKING DAY. I think of all the years when there might be a clip or two of you that would surface. Oh, and I read through the 15-plus pages of comments on that Gear Page post about the blind pedal test thing. It was weird seeing you having to deal with a couple of those Cheeto-stained-sweatpants dudes. I mean, it was also kind of fun, but odd, you know? Like seeing my grandmother canning green beans with Linda Lovelace or some shit.

Tom I have so much to thank you for. Your love of what you do is obvious and the thrill you get everytime you pick up a guitar is inspiring. I am 66 and have had a guitar of sorts in my hands since I was 4. The part of the UK where I live has zero guitar teachers. Working anything out was hard work on my own, although rewarding. Marshall is one lucky young dude (and has the DNA too). Now you unleash John upon us. What an infectious personality. Suffice to say I am now a Blackbird Insider. Had trouble signing up but Matt Bender sorted me out within an hour of an email. Such great guys, I feel I am in good hands.

My son and two friends went to Blackbird Academy for a summer clinic then came back after high school to train in live sound. My son landed engineering positions at the best venues back here in Colorado. His buddy went to work at Clair and has toured the world a couple of times with several artists. Their Blackbird experience really paid off. My son is now an electrical engineer but still in high demand for FOH and monitor positions. The list of artists that have offered him jobs is a who’s who of musicians. I spent a lot of time down there around the studio just waiting to pick up the boys. John, Kevin Becka (RIP) and Mark Rubel gave me separate tours of different studios and gear at Blackbird. Great experiences. BTW, I bought a Duesenberg Session Man today. Can’t wait to give it a test run.

Absolutely, LOVED THIS!!! Side note, number sums are a unique way of expanding our awareness. While it may be considered WOO, the gains we achieve using this practice are VERY measurable. Take music theory for example and how numbers interplay with each other. Interval inversions will sum to 9. 4th's and 5th's being an obvious example. Also, if your root note is on the E string, then the (major) 3rd, 6th, and 9th intervals will be one fret lower on the A, D, and G strings. Also, also... The time length of this video sums to 9... Okay, I'll stop haha

Uncle Larry, your behind the scenes videos reveal that most of the folks, session players, engineers, studio owners, etc. are just normal, nice people. As an outsider looking in, they always seemed to be a closed off, (sorry, but kind of stuck up) protective gatekeepers of the industry that weekend hacker-wackers like me could never hang with. It's changed my view and made my idea of, and enjoyment of recorded music as more personable. Can't tell you how much I enjoy Homeskoolin'! Thanks! ✌🏼😎

Hey Eri - unfortunately there are some people (in every walk of life) that won't share knowledge and experiences for the betterment of the world. I say "Fuck that - let's raise the bar!" Music is more important than people realize - and it can (and has) changed the world! For the better! To quote Ted Lasso with a slight variation - Music is life!

@@johnmcbride5449 Hey John, thanks for the thoughful reply. You're right, there are negative people in every profession and walk of life; I hadn't thought of it that way so thanks for the reminder. I was fortunate to be raised around, and brought along by musicians that gave. They encouraged anyone and paid it forward while honoring those that came before. That's a great indicator of a well-rounded person and musician. Thanks for all you do for music. ✌🏼😎
