That bend around the 2:08 mark is like Uncle Larry's equivalent of seeing how slow he can get the plane to fly without it falling out of the sky. Lovely stuff.

Uncle Larry there are so many things we have learned from you. But one of the things i most value is that your music, your melodies have motion, take the listener somewhere along they way, and you do that with great use of space, interesting intervals...in short, your music is "musical" which always makes me want to listen more. And its changing the way i play too. A million thanks.

A week or so you mentioned an off hand list of players you had high regard for, then at 2:08, there it is; Amos Garrett. He lives in Alberta, tours a bit,and has lead the house band at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival for decades, backing up performers and jamming at side stages. He’d be surprised by the nod from you Uncle Larry! Thanks for the morning soundtrack to my day.

The ever amazing feeling of a story being told whenever I listen to your playing, Tom. The way the ideas blend into one another and evolve is stunning. There’s always a sense of conversation between the musical phrases through the piece of music. Inspirational, indeed.

I’ve never commented on a video in my life before but how can you not after watching this, it’s almost like I’m compelled to tell the world how much I love your playing almost as much as I am compelled to listen to it! Your the man uncle Larry, unbelievable actually, while I’m typing I also feel kinda compelled to say your the only person alive who can actually speak in the 3rd person about themselves and come off as cool as fuck so keep up the great work brother cause everything you play, and say really is exactly what we want to listen to even if we don’t know it until we hear it which is a very special thing!
