Very cool. Thanks for sharing! I had a 101 that I had to sell in my mid 20's to buy diapers and regretted it ever since. Lately I've been into old Klemt/Dynacord units - crazy tones! Thanks again!

I remember my dad coming home with one just like that. He was gigging. I was 16 maybe. It was at the very beginningof my addiction to geetar. And he just sat there for hours watching me tinker with it and his Tele. Still have the Tele.

Hey, Tom-love, love, LOVE your channel and only fairly recently discovered it. I’ve worked in public k-12 education for almost 25 years now-and there’s always a handful of critics, complainers, and outright haters who repay the soulful self-giving of the teacher with small-hearted bitterness and sterility. For every nattering nabob of negativity there are 100 or more who are unspeakably grateful in spite of the fact that they never speak up to say so. Ever hear the Bible story of Jesus healing the ten lepers? 9 of them ran off cured and never looked back; only one of the returned to say thank you. In my teaching experience 1 in 10 would be an almost impossibly high gratitude ratio…. Thank you for the generous gift of yourself and your knowledge through this channel.

That's the coolest fuggin thing I've ever seen. Is this the climax of your channel dude? Most awesome thing I've ever laid my eyes on, I thought "501CE" just stood for a vintage little boss pedal that I'd never be able to afford. This is like going to friends house and Bam, he's got a damn millennium falcon! And you've seen the preview for Star Wars or whatever movie it was in ha ha. Tom you're the coolest kid on the block hands down, especially with toys like that. Your channel rocks! Edit: Quick question tho, can I have that? You know you're my favorite Uncle! 😁 Seriously cool unit, I'm floored after watching the whole video, I just like analog and Roland stuff.
Great video. Every day Uncle Larry pops his head around the door is a good day.

Thanks for the great demo and explanation of the 501. The Hello hello hello reminds me when James Boogaloo Bolton’s band showed up. He has played with, BB King band leader 30 plus years, Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Issa Hayes, Supremes, The Spinners, James Brown, etc They show up for a mic check and the multi talented, charming personality, sax player, singer, songwriter, Evelyn Rubio kept on saying hello hello hello in the mics and me acting silly kept on hollering back Helllllllloooooo Laaaaddy. LOL It was a great festival, beautiful music, great weather, a good time had by all. Thanks.

Tommy has forgotten more than most people will ever know about guitars and gear. For someone that doesn't generally like to talk about gear, he has apparently seen or used most everything out there at some point.... except his understandable disdain for modeling amps! lol !!

That chorus is about the best sounding i have ever heard, so natural. For delay its pretty cool, but i am so partial to the 2290's or the OG MXR rack.Granted entirely different spectrum, overall the chorus that roland produces is EXCELLENT

Talk about timing! I’ve been running through a tape echo/space echo rabbit hole this past few days (actually got to discover the 501’s existence on Saturday, was only aware of the “standard” 201 before…), and dear Uncle Larry, who never posts about gear, comes out with this. Wonderful demonstration of a truly unique, musical tool. We’ve been skooled! Thank you Tom, loved every second! (As usual with your posts…)

I can’t believe Uncle Larry didn’t show off the coolest part: running it stereo out. On my 301, the stereo chorus sounds AMAZING and it makes the reverb one side, repeats on the other. Stupid good on synths.

Uncle Larry, that Sun Records sound at around 10:00 is so so good. Fascinating. Can't believe I missed the 128 128. Must be like a magic trick where we wanted to believe normal was normal. Bless Rick; Tommy, you're doing it right. Keep it going. Each one of these makes many thousands of humans happy. Even if we aren't among the 500 real players. Maybe there's room for 501.

Holy Shit that sounds amazing Wow! A 501choursecho just like the name states! How cool is that. What an absolutely amazing piece of equipment. I’ve owned the smaller space echo and loved it and should of never sold it BUT I saw that Boss is coming out with a small pedal platform version in the same small box form of an OD1 so that should be cool to put on your board. I understand if you’re going to sell it but maybe you should keep it and use it in the studio or for Homeskoolin’. I can’t think of another player who would do this amazing unit better than you Uncle Larry…Thanks for making my lunch break awesome. Definitely needed this today.
