I am 9 months pregnant and my husband is being let go from his job, and not in a smooth fashion. I’ve been so mad lately and not attending church, and when I do attend I can feel that my heart is not truly there with Him. All I can say in my prayers lately is “help” Thats all that comes out. I’ve had thoughts of opening the Bible but every time I feel something pushing me not to. I know that I’ve been letting the enemy win for months. I needed this video.

Praying for you! May you remember His saving love and may the Holy Spirit dwell within you and bring you peace. I feel as though psalm 89:2 is key for you here, I don't know you so this may be a shot in the dark but I pray that Gods word can rouse you in a loud and deafening world. God Bless you and your family xx "For I have said, “Goodness and lovingkindness will be built up forever; In the heavens [unchangeable and majestic] You will establish Your faithfulness.” (Psalm 89:2- AMP edition)

Sometimes that all you can do is pray HELP, and that’s okay God knows where you are. He sees you and he knows your situation. Just keep thanking God for ALL your situations! Give thanks and be grateful for everything… I mean everything. Open a Bible app on your phone and just listen if you can’t read right now, it’s the devil that wants you to put the Bible down . So defeat him and turn on the word and then turn on Christian music. Surround yourself with Jesus !!! Trust me your attitude will change!!! Keep the faith my friend! We hv all been there and God hears even your whispers !! Blessings and all good things to you and your family!!!

Very true words, Shayla. My therapist is helping me work thru my past trauma. Learning to be the wife and mother that God would have me to be in spite of the example I was given is an hourly challenge. But I feel His work in me, and I pray that my children will come thru unscathed! I love your kitchen, btw! Keep the vids coming!

Shayla, My mother-in-law is in the hospital right now as her MS is progressing. She had decided to use MAID to 'end her suffering'. My husband, lead by God, shared his heart with her last night regarding God's heart and desire for her. This morning we received a message from her stating that she has taken MAID off the table and is going to continue to fight. I found your video this morning. The scriptures that you shared are a gift from God and I have written them down to share with her today. The song that you played at the end of your video touched my heart and soul. Thank you for all that you do. ♡

I feel most of the people that I have had in my life who have walked away from God decided to make God complex for their lives rather than having a childlike simple faith. They want excuses for their lifestyles and know God doesn't agree with those things, so they push him away. That or they don't like how His children have treated others, that it turns them off too. It is hard for them to seek him out when all they see is their own hurt that they won't give to Him. Beautiful video!!

Such a good one! Thank you! As I have recently walked through a crisis of faith with my 16 year old son these past two years, I have often said, “faith is a practice.” I think we’ve finally made it through and he is developing his own beautiful relationship with the Lord. But it really does require a practice of reminding ourselves who God is. As you were mentioning seeking advice from someone who truly knows, I was reminded of Job’s well meaning but ignorant friend, Elihu, who offered him terrible advice in his grief. I have felt convicted lately that I want to speak life to my family and friends and sometimes this means reminding them of God’s promises while other times it means staying quiet and listening.

Thank you 🥺🥹 I'm at such a place. I've been here a long time but I've also been a believer for a long time, I love the Lord so much. I'm just so tired and I'm at a loss. Someone sent a song to me the other day and it said something like, I'm planting a seed of faith in my field of doubt. That's what I'm trying to do. Beautiful video, beautiful message, and beautiful music. Carrying this with me. 🤗🤗🤗 I so appreciate your willingness to share your life like this. It's such a blessing to me and I'm sure so many others. Your home is beautiful. I too live in an unfinished fixer upper so I get it!

@@brendahowell5946 As someone who once was a traumatised child- I have to say that consistency is a major help...I have also found as an adult, ensuring they (indeed, we all as children of God) find and explore areas for awe in their lives- the beautiful sky, leaves, animals they are passionate about, art- anything that they find awe-inspiring, I'd really recommend paying attention to as it's where God calls to us and how we can practise gratefulness and worship Him and His creation.

I've been looking at how trauma, specifically childhood trauma, can affect health, mental, and physical. My daughter has been going through health hardships lately, and we've had to look at our own parenting mistakes in her life since she's now an adult (20). Much I think was because she's gone undiagnosed her entire childhood and pubescent years with autism. Still, it's humbling to heal wounds from our own childhood and even harder the ones you've inflicted as a parent. Our expectations and family values were rigid for our neurodivergent children, and though we've changed our outlook and parenting style, we can't change the experience our eldest children had; we can only try to heal and walk alongside as supportive as we can be in their current state in life. Her medical difficulties, as challenging and life changing as they've been, have also been a blessing in that we can recognize how to parent with more grace and patience, and be self aware of our own traumas and triggers. Some days can still be gray and defeating, though. Thanks for sharing, Shayla!

Beautiful message. I think that people (myself included) often push God away (rather than walk away) in order to not be abandoned. Kind of like "you can't fire me, because I QUIT" LOL. People do this to people, too. When we have felt abandonment, it is really hard to see why ANYONE would want to bother with us (even God) and therefore we push away (quit) rather than suffer through abandonment again. But that does not help us mature. And besides, God is not ever going to 'fire us', we are way too important to his design !!!!!

All the verses and encouragement you shared spoke so clearly to what I'm going through right now. I've been struggling with anxiety returning; a fear based in that lack of love. It's such a conscious struggle to tell my mind and my body that I am safe in God's arms and he loves me. I'll continue watching that section of verses on repeat! ❤

Also our house needs a lot of work and its not worth investing in any cosmetic changes. We've made it "livable" the last 14 years, but it's time to move on. Its definitely not functional for the kind of housekeeping you show, and I'd like to do. Next place will also need updating so it will be living in another buiding site, but hopefully it won't go on and on. I'll admit in my 50s I'd just like to be in a place that's "finished".

I don’t really know if I want to write or even know what to write exactly. We have been going through some really hard times and for about a year now I have been going over my limits daily. My husband is away for work 12 hours a day. And I am home with a 12 month old and 5,5 year old (whom has autism and I homeschool). We live in a tiny apartment that makes it impossible to even do dishes or talk when the baby is napping. My husband and I have recently moved our bed to the living room and the apartment is on the third floor, no elevator. Strollers aren’t allowed to stay in the hallway so it’s a big hustle trying to leave the house and so I just don’t if I don’t absolutely have to. My 5,5 year old has many meltdowns daily and I’m just insanely overstimulated. It’s not that I want to walk away from God, it’s that my body is literally failing and we will be in this situation at least until next January. God doesn’t promise that we’ll make it out of situations like this without loss. I could have a heart attack (I’m starting to have issues). My husband is beyond exhausted too and I fear for his life every day he leaves because he gets distracted in the car. I’m terrified of being in this situation for much longer because of what may happen and I just feel like I can collapse any day. I am traumatizing my 5,5year old because I am yelling, slamming doors and things out of overstimulation and pure desperation. How is it that God would want this to happen to my child, my husband, my family? And I mean, even I know he doesn’t want that. I fear the consequences of this insanity and it doesn’t feel worth it.

Ashely, as I read this it reminded me of myself around 11 years back. I can vividly remember how it feels to feel this way. I too have a child on the spectrum. The only way to get through is to take things minute by minute. You are in survival mode. Try to find moments to do a little something for yourself, a cup of tea, crochet, something to decompress. With every pain, take it to the Lord and believe He cares, because He does! There is something He has for you in this situation, ask Him to reveal it to you. Ask Him to help you. I would also get a full physical done, bloodwork and all. Make sure you are not dealing with thyroid issues, which are extremely common after having babies. They can make you feel this way. Also, post partum depression can set in for up to 5 years after having a baby. Lastly, I know it is hard, but you gotta start working on a list to post in your home. List your blessings and everyday look at the list. When you are overwhelmed look at the list. Post Jeremiah 29:11 in your home where you will see it. I just finished a video yesterday, I don't know when it will be posted but keep an eye out for it, if you enable notifications on my channel here you should get a notice when it goes live. It's called "Rainy Kitchen Day". I plan to publish it in a week or two. Also, I have a playlist with videos where I share encouraging faith topics for mama's like you. Maybe some of these might help you this week. I have prayed for you, Ashley. May the Lord be with and comfort and heal your broken heart, and may He give you a new song of praise to sing soon! kzbin.info/aero/PLF8M-ErcDDXLTrs8tx8emzRsWFy8kyVjR

Thank you for this! I heard you mention "generational curses". I know this is a common idea in the Christian world, but I don't believe it is Biblical. Ezekiel chapter 18 discusses this- especially verses 19-32. Thank you again for your content!

Hello, thank you for commenting! "Generational Curses" are not a common "idea" in the Christian world, they are a very real thing and spoken of in Deuteronomy 5:9. Ezekiel chapter 18 is one of my favorite readings as I believe it is speaking of a new promise from God where He is extending his mercies and grace to those who will receive it and do right.
@The_GreenBranch
@The_GreenBranch 8 ай бұрын
Perhaps there are differing meanings here of generational curses. I do remember Christ saying that children are not cursed because of something their parents did. So, like the lame who were seen as cursed because of the sinfulness of their parents, but I do think there are habits formed that sometimes are passed on for generations. The pattern of physical or verbal abuse, a pattern of abandonment, or of drunkenness. People often imitate the patterns of their parents or those by whom.they were raised, often not recognizing the problems with them. We break generational curses by allowing ourselves to be vulnerable enough to recognize the problematic pattern we experienced and perhaps have succumbed to so as to revert it and stop it (so that we don't pass that on).

@@mountainmamashome I understand what you are saying, but Jesus did away with that. That was the Old Testament. That was the Old law. God's grace and mercy covers that

Generational curses are absolutely a real thing. It’s not like a curse cast on your family, but it is behavioral patterns passed down through generations that are hard to break. For example in my family I had an angry abusive grandfather. My dad wasn’t abusive in the same way but was passive aggressive and angry, I carry the same patterns in my temper versus having patience and gentleness. Growing in the fruits of the spirit can help break generational curses and God can and will bring you out of them but you have to recognize and acknowledge their existence.
