I’m Italian, my mom made Navy bean soup! Wow, we didn’t even have all those veggies in ours! Just beans and greens! 😋 And, she didn’t can it. I had no idea that we were too poor to buy meat! Now that I think about all the kinds of meals she made I realize she did a lot with what she had. It was always amazingly delicious food! ♥️

The deer got into my hightunnel and ate ALL my greens. My back door now has a doorknob on it. They were just able to push the door open to eat everything and take shelter from the deep freeze and snow

@@HOMESTEADHEART Mrs. H, in the video, you spoke of a correction to the written recipe. Right now, it reads, "Single Large Batch Recipe = 14 Quarts,,,7 Cups Navy Beans = 6 pounds". Are those ratios correct before I copy the recipe down? Or, do you want to make a correction before I copy it down? I'm confused...
@SewToFit
@SewToFit 10 ай бұрын
@@lilblackduc7312 38:07 she corrects it to 14 cups of dried beans. I made 1/2 of the full one pot batch, 2-16oz store bought bags of dried beans 19 pints. They came out fantastic. Hope this helps.

@@HOMESTEADHEART If a 'natural disaster' makes it so we cannot cook, it's easier to open a jar of home canned beans and eat them cold, than to try to eat bagged, dry ones. I like that fact!

When i went on line for canning help...there was Mrs H. I would literally can anything she canned! She is so good and tells it like it should be...with her "ball canning book!" LOL Because she could add humor that is part of her personality, I loved her and stayed with her! MR H adds his own personality also! LOLOL.
