Our gooseggs different than chicken eggs we have to lock them down on day 18 no opening until after they have hatched I have heard that if I open it up after lock down day it can make the baby die because it sucks the air out

I am having problems with them developing and then they don’t hatch. Never seen an incubator like the one you have
@canadianmomma00392 жыл бұрын
When I made this video we were using a very old brand. We just invested in a new one. A Sportsman incubator. It has by far the best hatching rate we have ever seen. What type do you have? Do you order your eggs or do you use the eggs off your land? Some eggs can we duds, but there's a few reasons why, Humidity (different birds need different humidity) the temperature not regulating, or turning the eggs over (does your automatically turn or do u have to do it by hand?)

It is called hatchabatch ( i misspoke in the video) I'm not 100% if its available for samsung and not just Apple products but i will look right now actually. Also stay tuned as i will be making a new and improved video this spring that will have some new things in it for hatching birds! Thanks for watching!! Feel free to ask any other questions in the meantime.

@@canadianmomma0039 I'm having a heck of a time trying to hatch these embden eggs. Started with 13.... then had 5 fully formed. I stopped rolling at day 26.... it's now day 35 and only one egg remains. 2 eggs had rotten egg yolks (but fully formed goslings).... one internally piped and then put its head back down and died, and one waddled and waddled in the egg, but couldn't get its head up to break loose... was fully formed and had yolk sack. This last remaining egg moved yesterday.... couldn't see any shadowing during candling today, or movement. Temp has been at 37.5c , humidity 50-60%. What could I be doing wrong? I've started a new batch in my other incubator hoping this one will be better. Both incubators are still air. Thanks for any help you could give. I'm desperate for success with 5 kiddos watching .

@@abundantlyblessedhomestead9951 Dont be discouraged! Early season eggs tend to be less productive than later on in the season. I personally don't stop turning the eggs till day 31 or 32. May I ask what type of incubators you have? We just learned this year that the quality of incubator makes a huge difference.
@abundantlyblessedhomestead99513 жыл бұрын
@@canadianmomma0039 this second batch is a hovabator incubator. The first batch is in an unmarked incubator. It is digital and I checked the temp reading with another thermometer. Do you leave the egg turner on then till day 30? With the hovabator incubator I have to manually turn the eggs....
@canadianmomma00393 жыл бұрын
@@abundantlyblessedhomestead9951 You will always have challenges with the still air incubators I have found. Yes the eggs continually rotate. Right now we have our eggs rotating every hour but we just invested in a newer model sportsman and we have had amazing rates so far. Again don't be discouraged I find Geese and turkeys are the toughest to hatch successfully without the right equipment as they require more tending to I found.

Hello! Now believe it or not that is a debate among Hatcher's all around! Some like to hatch natural (unwashed) because that's how it is in the wild however I personally prefer to wash just to avoid any bacteria growing inside the incubator.

Do you know where I can find Canada goose eggs (hatching eggs)
@canadianmomma00394 жыл бұрын
Well we got ours from our own breeding stock but I do believe some people sell them on Kijiji. Possibly some sites that could ship some Eggs from either US or Canada! "Hatcherys" If you cant find any eggs pursay I would suggest investing in a few geese for your own and having them lay eggs for you to take and hatch. I hope this helps! I will try to find a link to some hatcheries that should carry some!
