Watch next: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZupe41qpdmVf8Usi=CcEvMng8yw-yRu5J We ended up having an extreme fire danger day where schools were closed for the day, see our experience through that.

Rake the leaves into rows off the hills and light them up. Get a lot more burnt. Cut up larger timber for firewood, for yourselves or sale. Get a loader in for tracks and firebreaks and even a small firefighting unit if you can afford it. Clear around sheds, the bus as well. We nearly lost our place (7.5ac. in WA) last xmas. Every year leaves and twigs build up but we were sick and not able to do a lot (could of paid someone) so murphys law kicked in, 44c, howling winds, blowing embers, ran out of fuel on my fire ute so abandoned that on black ground. Hooked the caravan up, grabbed docs. etc and the dog and bolted through a haze of smoke and embers. Back 15 hours later and it was all still standing. Great lifestyle living in the bush, peaceful and quiet. But a lot of hard work to be bushfire safe.

Sam you are the roast master!🙌🏼 That looked so good, and thanks for the roasting tips. We’ve got a Webber, so will try it like you did as it looked really good👍 Everything is dry around here too, we’re working on our fire plan as we are in a high risk area too. Take care guys xx Cathi xx 😘

Aww that's high compliments thank you Cathi! Yes a terribly dry season, hope you got your fire plan sorted, we have had a couple of scares around us already, gearing up for a lot of stress this Summer.

Hi Di great clean up off the bush. Wise doing it bit by bit. How cute was that hedgehog? Seriously. Hi Sam hope the new job is going well. Love the way you prepared your roast. It looked bloody delicious. Great work on the wiring and installation guys. It really coming along.

Yes the bush feels endless but any bit helps. The echidna was seriously cute and stuck around for ages! Sam's doing great at work, he is back in disability care and has fit right in as if he's been there for years. Certainly challenging balancing everything but we're getting there!

@@DiandSam that’s fantastic news about Sam’s work. I’m so glad it’s working out for him. Your so luck having she/he hang around so long. When I see them up the bush I get stuck watching them for ages.

We don’t have hedgehogs in Australia much to my disappointment but we have echidnas! A bit different but still cute! They do have a cheeky habit of sitting in the middle of the road

Certainly :) however our experience with sheep made us a bit worried to, having temporary fencing and structures makes it really hard to keep those little fellas in!

This video is not about off grid living!! This video is about a man and his roast lamb!! LOL!! You need to show me how to make that gravy though!! LOL!!
@DiandSam
@DiandSam Жыл бұрын
We're not off-grid yet, only rural :) But soon!!! As for the gravy, Meat juices, extra bone broth, worstershire sauce, and a cornflour slurry to thicken! Salt as is needed, can't go wrong!

how much it cost to live in australia for a month
@DiandSam
@DiandSam 5 ай бұрын
Average rent now a days is min 400 a week Groceries normally for us at least about 150-250 a week Going out min $400 that's if you go out once a week for dinner and movie. Phone bills average 50-60 a month Fuel min 200 for the month = $1700 minimum AUD I mean it all depends on how you live and where but I'd say that is all a base line.

CHEMICAL FREE PEST ERADICATION 👍🏆🥳🥳 Echidnas live off eating ants and their eggs. Great for getting rid of white ants (termites) and annoying meat-ant nests that are too close to you and your main areas and your animals. Great roast, good clearing of fire fuels. Have a great day from Sthn NSW, Australia 🙏🦘🦘🦘
