Tessie !!!! I GOT IT. MY DH has been saving money and just ordered it for me. Its coming on the 9th. I can't wait. I found the PDF of the cookbook for it. m.media-amazon.com/images/I/B1xRS6t8eFS.pdf . first thing I want to make is apple rings and raisins. The last dehydrator i had my mom bought for my Guinea pig around 20 yrs ago ( b. 1963) he liked all the veg/fruit in his food so mom said this would be cheaper lol

You are what my mom used to refer to as a "self-starter," Tessie. You don't need anyone to set your priorities or plan your day. You get up in the morning with a solid idea of what you want to get done and -- by golly -- you've usually nailed it by the end of the day. I really admire your sense of organization. Caring for a parent with dementia, my day can go off the rails pretty easily. You never know what their mood will be for the day! So it's relaxing to sit down with your videos in the evening and see order and accomplishment in your home. You must have a real sense of satisfaction at the end of most (I realize your life isn't all roses) if not all of your days. Have a blessed evening.

Nice dehydrator Tessie. I have a 9 tray Excalibur. It came with a solid door and then I found out from a KZbin that you could buy another door that is clear like yours. I love it. Like you say, you can see how you food is coming along in the drying process. I love dehydrating things. I have found though that it is better if you rotate your trays by just turning them around ever so often during the process. Just take each tray and put the front side to the back and the back to the front. That way your veggies that were at the back of the dehydrator all the time won’t be burnt and the things to the front not like the peppers were. It’s real easy to just pull the tray out and turn it around. I just check mine every once in awhile and if it’s getting drier on the back than the front , I just give a spin. Hope you continue to feel better with time , Sweetheart. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Plastic canvas sheets that are used for needle point crafts are cheap, you can make your own dehydrator liners with them. Just trace and cut to the round trays (you can use your old ones as a template) and cut the sheet to size if needed for the new one that you just got. It is cheap and easy and you can make as many as you need, they sell them at Walmart and craft stores.
@kandi86403 жыл бұрын
Tessie you might be able to get some plastic canvas from the craft area and use for your trays. I cut the florets off the broccoli and then trim the woodynpart of the stem and peel it. The rest of the stem will get tender and makes great soup.

Hi, Tessie, I’ve the same type of dehydrator and am very content. We are 'food savers', we ordered a package of veggies every week from a young company, some things are not fulfilling the European rules, so they’d be thrown away. I use up everything. Every time I’ve too much of something, I make juice, dehydrate or freeze it. And if fruits are cheap, I make 'candy' out of them : Kiwi 🥝 : looks nice in slices and tastes like sour candy! And persimmons turn out wonderfully, too. With this amount of veggies YOU have, you could make a party service running... you’re a very busy bee 🐝. Love, Monika❣️

I have an inexpensive bare bones model that has really changed my thinking. Now I'm drooling a little for this lovely model, but instead I'll just be SUPER HAPPY that they recognized your worth and let you have one, I hope to keep. We would always have it out at Christmas time and my parents would splurge on mixed nuts and we would all enjoy having it out and enjoying the nuts. Funny thing is as much as we all ate we never ran out of the nuts. (there was 10 of us in the household) The bowl always remained full up through the New Year! I just try dehydrating for the first time and they were peppers too. I got a Cosori 12 & I oven & it has a dehydrating feature. I love dehydrated foods. I have the nesco dehydrator. Lately I’ve been buying frozen shredded hash brown potatoes and dehydrating them. I can put a couple spoonful in my egg pan with a bit of water, hydrate them and the add butter and brown them, and add my eggs. It makes a great breakfast. I also have started shredding sweet potatoes and dehydrating them, I put them in everything. Great video. ☮️❤️☕️-Kirsten

Tessie--thank-you for inspiring me to dry foods! I've been experimenting with it for over a month and enjoy it. I just use my oven because our house is too small for added gadgets, but it does the job. Though, me being me, so far I store my jars of dried food in the refrigerator just to be safe. ha! :) But again, I'm having fun with it and I have you to thank for that. Thanks, Tessie!
