I realize that many people can not understand homestuck after reading it. I am not one of those people, not because I am some pillar of abstract thought, but because I know Hussie's style. Hussie makes so many callbacks that he mader up something called circumstantial simultaneity to explain it, but his callbacks do not directly state where they are from or that they are a callback. Hussie simply expects us to remember everything and notice every detail for future reference. Now that's all fine and well, to those who want the extra involvement this is a welcome challenge, but the problem arises when hussie applies the same shifty practises to major plot development, burying an extremely important fact right in the middle of a very long pesterlog or in the background of an image. Some authors would think Hussie mad for this behavior; how could he risk losing the attention of readers by expecting so much of them? But there is a very good reason that he does this, Hussie does not give a fuck about his fanbase. He has stated on several occasions that if he could magically get rid of all but a select few of his fans, he would, and this is precisely why he deserves the fans. It is said that a man who does not wish to be king is the best suited for the job, and I believe the same applies here.
