It's funny (and by funny I mean heartbreaking) how Nepeta was percieved as childish yet she was the most emotionally mature of all the trolls. While everyone else was fighting over crushes and drama, she was able to set that aside and keep her friendships. this only makes the track art more devastating because in her last moments Nepeta finally let herself naïvely fantasize about a boy who regarded her as a joke :)

Hollus Elsfik This is late, but I just remembered she and Feferi show up later, and they left with Sollux, and as far ad I recall, they're fine. Also, as of Game Over, Karkat is dead, and the God Tier we saw her with is non-existent. So that means Nepeta doesn't have her old Karkat, but the Alpha one she knew is about to enter the afterlife. So maybe, just maybe.... It'll work out.

Everyone who keeps crying about how Nepeta "died broken-hearted" apparently needs to re-read Homestuck, because she didn't. Yes, Nepeta was probably sad that Karkat didn't like her back, but she was in no way burdened by those feelings. She didn't hate Terezi for being the one Karkat actually liked, and she didn't try and force her feelings on Karkat despite how much she liked him. I think that's why Nepeta was such a great character; whereas Karkat continued to fuck up on quadrants with Terezi because he was young and indecisive, and Eridan tried to force his feelings on Feferi (but he DID manage to get over her eventually), Nepeta held onto her feelings and kept them strong without forcing them on others.

You did make a good point there, but its not always about love........ If you noticed she looked completely heart broken when Equius, her moirail, died in front of her. So in a way she did die broken hearted. Please don't take this as a hate comment, I did not mean to sound rude in any way. =^ω^=

Theres a headcanon that as Nepeta was dying she tried to crawl to Equius just so she could hold his hand. She was only inches away when Gamzee denied Nepeta's dying wish by picking her up and throwing her against the wall. Killing her on impact. As well another headcanon is that her dream self unlike the others didn't die right away and for hours she lay for hours in agony crying for Equius, Karkat or anyone. But no one did and she died with a broken heart. Honestly I think Nepeta is such an underrated character, and she is one of my favorites.

I think the saddest part of Nepeta and Karkat is the fact that she's probably the only person that has never, ever, in the entire comic, insulted him, at least not to my memory. She's the nicest person to him, and Karkat doesn't even seem to notice. I like both characters so much, but it's just really upsetting that she geniuinely seems to LOVE Karkat, not just have a silly crush, and he's so oblivious to it. And then it gets sadder, cause we've seen God Tier Karkat with her and they were both happy, which means it's possible that Karkat is capable of reciprocating her feelings.

there's something really depressing about this picture and it's not just because she drew him in her own blood, that's pretty terrible, but like in her dying moments she was still holding the fantasy that karkat would be with her, touching her fingertips, smiling, happy with her and it made her happy as she died next to the body of her best friend it was like her system of coping and that hurts because karkat never canonically returned her feelings or even knew that much about it this doesnt make her weak or wimpy or whatever, it just makes it sadder somehow because she held these things back all the time nepeta (and the others) was still so young when she died and i think people forget that a lot

I hate how people only think Nepeta as a very childish character when that's not all she is. The Disciple had a requited love with The Sufferer. Meulin had a requited love with Kurloz. Nepeta only had her feelings - an unrequited love. Even though she was the youngest of all the heroes of heart, Nepeta had the toughest time with romance. She never got to experience the same requited feelings her ancestors did. Yet she still had those feelings for Karkat, right up until the very end. In my opinion, Nepeta's story is possibly the saddest in Homestuck. I just want to give her a big hug.

She loves Karkat so much it hurts... god thats just sad,everyone thinks shes annoying but she has a reason,everyone thinks shes weak when she can kick your ass,everyone sees her as a nuisance when all she wants is love... especially from her karkitty. Yet... he beats himself up and when he stops he goes after the wrong people like jade or john and then he becomes bros or maybe even more with Dave... Meanwhile Nepeta just wants to unconditionally love Karkat with or without his flaws,he'll always be her karkitty. *sigh* How tragic... now when she recieves life again she is davepeta^2,meaning if karkat and her do get together its more likely because of her dave side then her nepeta base side... If she had survived, she would have been one of the coolest characters, and could have gotten such a HUGE character development, but no, she has to die. Its not her whole arc... well to be honest she never got a proper one but its not her whole character no, its just someone she loves and wanted to love but... nope. I mean part of it is that the signless and... fuck I cant remember her name,nepetas counter part ancestor, got together so thats evidence for one and she was also hanging with a karkat during roxy's little sleep fly by thing in the back ground. Im not sure theres more evidence,honestly theres little evidence its going anywhere but theres little evidence a lot of relationships happen. most are out of the blue or have little interaction like Roxy and john,though again there was SOME and I do kinda ship them... #Roxygen but still thers as much evidence with them as there is for roy and john if not slightly more with all the convos's and chances for interactions between them during the time period we never really saw during the troll session. that being also said she is all those things,just also probably triple fucking dead in the old deleted game session.

God i wish Nepeta was retconed to live instesd of Vriska. It whould be cool to see her act as a heart of meteor group that was falling apart and slowly drowning in their problems. Like, Nepeta is legit the most emotionaly mature troll that was able to not fight over petty dramas. And I haven't though about it, but you are absolutely right, Terezi could guide John to save characters like Tavros, Eqius, Feferi or even to beat some sense into Eridan. But noooo, Terezi just quided John to mess with her investigations and plush trials. That makes everything so much more shitty. And yes I know that when it comes to Equis, his sprite is supposed to be a part of lord English, but honestly we could write around that. If we brought Davesprite and Nannasprite from doomed timeline, then we can 100% bring fridged corpses from doomed timeline
