This piece was titled with contrast. "Requited", without context, wouldn't make sense, but knowing what we know, "Requited" forms a connection between the Disciple's love and Nepeta's love. This way, what by all means should have been a perfectly joyous and positive thing, the successful love of the former, gets subverted by the melancholy of the later. Our situational omniscience affords us this glimpse into a terrible pattern that creates sadness from love and fucks my evening straight up D:

This song is heartbreaking in a hundred different way. The song that this is based off of, Serenade, was essentially the song of Nepeta as she died, wishing she had told Karkat how she felt. Then there’s this song, Requited, which appears to be for the Disciple. Her love was requited, but then the one she loved was brutally killed. This song actually makes me cry.

I love this song far too much. It's simply astounding to me, It's just so powerful and moving. I want this to be played at my wedding should I ever wed along with Entropy, another song I find to be as beautiful and moving as this. This song just makes me smile at the fact that at least in one timeline, Nepeta had a sweet and gentle man as a husband and he loved her with all his heart. And that husband was her unrequited love for so many sweeps. And the fact that that there love transcended all the quadrants and lasted eternity, brings a slight smile to my face. But then again that love may have lasted an eternity, it will never pass a past timeline. She will forever be his faithful disciple, yet she will always suffer.

Well, Aradia died first, then sollux (from the vast glub but feferi awoke his derse dream self) THEN feferi (and temporarily kanaya) but after that I can't remember the exact order. I think the rest goes; eridan, Equius, nepeta, vriska, then sollux became 'half dead' //spoilers from the game over and further updates\\ karkat, gamzee, kanaya and terezi but then the trolls from karkat, gamzee, kanaya, terezi come back do to shenanigans :)

Has anyone else noticed, that too date, every little romance arc excluding those involving the ancestors and dancestors has caused big problems so far. Karkat saved Gamzee (probably thinking he was saving everyone else) which allowed him to generally sabotage everything leading up to [s] Game Over, Rose went into some sort of year long drinking binge over Kanaya which lead to her never really mediating for Terezi and Gamzee and failing to prepare a strategy for the next session, Terezi's kismesissitude was also basically the death of her. An exception would be that Equius' weird, perverse obsession with Aradia lead to him building a soulbot for her, but that was totally unrequited, and that only started because of the shitstorm Vriska started when she crippled Tavros motivated by her bizarre hate/pity obsession over him.

I discovered Homestuck way too late, and there's nothing that can change my mind. The fandom is pretty much dead, there's no big activity in it, every time when I go though various comic dubs, the only comments i see are those comments from AGES ago, when I go to any artist's page, there's no activity either.
