Waaq (God) Waaq is the Somali word for God, and was synonymously used for the ancient Cushitic Sky God Waaq. According to Somali Legend Eebo lived in the Heavens and whenever the nomads successfully prayed for rain it was known as Barwaaqo (God's rain).Then Hubal was brought in, Heedhe Hoobalwa, Hoobalow Hilowle, Hoobaalayoow Heedhe are tradition songs where Hubal replaced Waaq, Somalis specially the Dir continue to compose songs for it. Ayaanle (Angels) The Ayaanle in Ancient Somalia were known as the good spirits and acted as mediators between God and humans. They were said to be bringers of luck and blessings. Huur (Reaper) Huur was the messenger of Death and had the form of a large bird. The deity was akin to Horus of ancient Egypt and played a similar role in Somali society. Nidar (Punisher) Nidar was the righter of wrong. He was considered the champion of those that were exploited by their fellow humans. The deity has survived in modern Somalia as a popular saying; Nidar Ba Ku Heli ("Nidar will find and punish the ones who are naughty"). Amel Ali (Queen) Amel Ali was a legendary queen in ancient Somalia who is said to be the fastest woman in her time. Wiilwaal (King) Wiil Waal was a legendary king in ancient Somalia known for his bravery and skills in battle. Bucur Bacayr (King) Bucur Bacayr was a legendary king of the Yibirs in northern Somalia. Araweelo (Queen) Queen Araweelo was a legendary queen, who empowered women's rights, by making them stop their 'womanly' duties, which made the men realise their need for women. Giants and demons: Habbad ina Kamas (Giant) Habbad ina Kamas was a legendary cruel giant who ruled half of ancient Somalia. Habbad oppressive rule was the complete opposite to the kindness and care that was bestowed upon the other half of the land ruled by the giant Biriir ina Barqo. He was eventually defeated and slain in battle by Biriir, when the latter found out about Habbad's tyranny. Biriir ina Barqo (Giant) Biriir ina Barqo was a legendary heroic giant in ancient Somalia known for his just rule and kindness. He lived in a cave called Shimbiraale (the cave of birds) and used to wear a heavy ring that no man could lift. He answered the pleas of those suffering under the rule of the giant called Habbad and defeated him in battle. He then united the two lands and ushered in a long period of peace. Qori ismaris ("One who rubs himself with a stick") Qori ismaris was a man who could transform himself into a "Hyena-man" by rubbing himself with a magic stick at nightfall and by repeating this process could return to his human state before dawn. Dhegdheer ('"One with long ears") Dhegdheer was a female cannibalistic demon who hunted in Somali forests. Her victims were usually wandering or lost children. Buuti(shape-shifting human/creature) Buuti was one of the children of Dhegdheer who risked her life to save the innocent villagers. She turned heroic when she saved the people but was forever cursed to be shape-shifting cannibalistic creature.

Many regions of Somalia have cities or specific areas whose names corroborate the stories told in Somali mythology. Places such as Abudwaq, Ceel Waaq ("Well of God"), waaq-ooyi("north") and other similar towns with the name Waq in it suggest a relation to the old Waaq worship practiced in the Horn. The Tomb of Arawelo is another popular mythological place in Somalia said to be the final resting place of Queen Arawelo. In modern times, it is considered an important place for Somali women.

Good video. Some other points are that Imam Ahmed was an ethnic Somali of the Habr Magadle clan and born in Zeila. Harar was a Somali city founded by descendants of thr Dir clan Gurey's ancestors also descended from. The wall's of Harar were built by Sultan Nur, another ethnic Somali, this time of the Marehan clan to protect the Somali people of Harar. The Imam's biographer was a Moroccan Arab, hence the use of Arabic names in his history. Hararis descemd from Somalis but came under Ethiopian control after the war. Eventually, they even started speaking a Semitic language closer to Amhara and Tigray than their mative togue.

Ahmed ibn ibrahim al ghazi being somali are just speculations without any factual or Intellectual accuracy. After extensive research most historians specializing in East African history and culture concluded that Ahmed ibn ibrahim al ghazi was mostly likely harari or yemeni. He is either full yemeni, full harari or half harari and half yemeni. Many yemenis resided in harar because it was a flourishing trade hub in acient and medivial times. Many yemenis went to harar for trade and commerce. So please stop lying. During Ahmed ibn ibrahim al ghazi conquest of abyssinia Somalis were nomads competitng with each other over scare resources in the dessert like water and pasture. We were busy fighting each other to fight the abyssinia highlanders. Also habar younis lived in haud and didn't practice in the conquest. Ahmed ibn ibrahim al ghazi is a hero to East African Muslims but he was harari with a trace of yemeni blood. Also hargeisa and haraghe region of Ethiopia use to be inhabited by the hararis until the Somali nomads pushed them out or assimilated them. Both cities resemble the harari ethnic name. EMDNT (Futuh al-Habash) In 1529, Imam Ahmad's Adal troops defeated a larger Ethiopian contingent at the Battle of Shimbra Kure. The victory came at a heavy cost but it solidified the Somali forces' morale, providing proof that they could stand up to the sizable Ethiopian army.
@hamidsayyidsiraj19614 жыл бұрын
EMDNT The victories that gave the followers of Imam Ahmad the upper hand came in 1531. The first was at Antukyah, where cannon fire at the start of the battle panicked the Ethiopian soldiers. The second was on 28 October at Amba Sel, when troops under the Imam not only defeated but dispersed the Ethiopian army and captured items of the Imperial regalia. These victories allowed the Somalis to enter the Ethiopian highlands, where they began to sack and burn numerous churches, including Atronsa Maryam, where the remains of several Emperors had been interred.The country was looted by the Ahmad's forces, who destroyed several Christian monuments and oppressed the non-Muslim Amhara and Tigray.

@@የኩሽልጅ Hello my dear brother. Muslims always had a policy of non aggression towards the absynnian Christian empire. The prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon him) told his followers to not attack abyssinia as long as they don't attack you. The Quran describes the Christians of Ethiopia as people of wisdom and great knowledge. Muslims always had great respect for abyssinia and would always avoid confrontation with them. But amde seyon was the instigator in the adal and abyssinian conflict. He attacked the muslim kingdom first and the Muslims retaliated by defending their land. Amde seyon wanted to annex the Muslim kingdom. He labelled the Muslims the enemies of the lord and attacked them for no reason. He committed various atrocities towards the Muslims which would amount to human rights violations today. He killed many innocent Muslims, forced them to convert to Christianity and burnt thousands of mosques. This is well documented in the futush al habesh book. Imam ahmed himself said he had no attention of conquering the abyssinian Christian empire and only did so to put an end to the brutality and aggression of the abyssinian empire. Another thing to note is that one of the Christian kings raped Imam Ahmed relative which caused him great pain and sorrow. This is why he retaliated extremely aggressive towards the Christians in abyssinia. An arab writer described how one of Imam Ahmeds relative was raped and decapitated by a Christian king. Some are saying this was his mother or sister. Its well documented in the futush al habesh book. So we must read the context. Muslims are prohibited from attacking abyssinia but only did so to defend their land and people against a tyrant Christian king. I hope people of all faiths can live together in peace and harmony in Ethiopia and around the world. Take care.

So he thought about what he wanted to create , spoke it on his lips , and the word became real (flesh) . Hello my dear brother. Take care.

That means that he was gaining recognition for his talents because of his defensive operations. This war wasn't about religion but about defeating the oppressors.
