I totally agree. The happiest home I've lived in with my parents was a little cabin; we had only a tiny sofa that only two people could sit on, and we used to watch TV all together, seated on the floor with loads of cushions on the floor. Now, their living room is so big that no one stays together anymore...

In a time of hyperconsumerism and excess, this is extremely refreshing. It is absolutely possible to be happy and content and still dwell in beauty and abundance without having all the things. Now my grand kids, growing up fast are doing the same things my kids did and its fun to see my daughter play the mumm and show the little ones how we bake, do holiday crafts and cooking. We even made crock-pot apple butter in the fall... here in MN. God bless your NewYork Nest. Thank you for sharing with the world.

This family's home reminds me of the time my mom, stepdad, and brother came to live with me and my brand-new baby; organization made the experience nice and cozy.
