@spacespace3214 жыл бұрын
levidicci shedai Well Em nearly rapped about everything you can think of including, his life, the rap game, beefs, other rappers, his family, and more. So at this point in his career, I can understand why it would be kinda hard to create new substance without talking just a little bit about the past. And he does put the dick lines in sometimes and I think he does it to be funny 🤣.

Casual hip hop fans probably won't like it... It's the fast lyricism and crazy skill being exhibited. The double and triple entendres Eminem uses are ridiculous. This is more for the hip hop heads. I get it.
@user-jy1bc3gw2q5 жыл бұрын
I'm a casual hip hop fan and I love it. They're metal heads, so they don't understand the Slim Shady references or anything else from the scene. Avid hip hop fans don't have the market cornered on linguistic comprehension, or the understanding of musical theory and rhythm.
@tc75935 жыл бұрын
I’m a hiphop head and I appreciate this on so many levels, but as someone who isn’t heavy into rap.. wouldn’t you just appreciate the ability to enunciate words at such an incredible speed with actual meaning? That would just be my take. If I were someone unfamiliar with the genre.

8INFINITY8 it sucks but it makes sense. They don’t listen to rap usually. So the metaphors and the double triple entendres don’t pop to them. I just like the “metal head” reaction, because it’s very fresh to them. They don’t have a pre conceived notion of what and who these rappers are

after listening to rap for a longgg time it becomes a lot easier to understand the words and appreciate the lyricism, rhyme schemes and aggression in the track. I was able to memorize all the words after a dozen listens or so but thats only because ive been listening to rap and trying to catch Eminems verses for like 10-15 years lol. Id recommend sticking to his slower stuff for a while yet

Love your reactions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Makin' dog sounds 'cause I gotta keep breakin' these bars down I'll go slow for the speds But when I go (Roof!) like the Dobermann said I still think the (Roof!) would go over your head (Ha-ha)" “Sped” refers to “special education” programs for students with disabilities, and is being used here to suggest that most listeners don’t fully understand his lines. Furthermore, the usage of dog-related terms and sounds might be a way of mocking sounds used in mumble rap-a hip-hop subgenre-continuing his efforts against it, started with his 2017 album Revival. “Roof” doubles for a dog barking and actual rooftops, which go over the head. Just like the bars did....Its not just about rapping fast. its about telling a story or getting a point across in the most clever way possbile. Talking is equivalent to walking and rapping is equivalent to parkour.
@joeerickson25815 жыл бұрын
A better introduction to Logic would be something from his first album, “Under Pressure.” A great place to start would be the title track, “Under Pressure,” as it focuses more on Logic’s ability to tell stories in his music. “Gang Related” is also a story telling track, but it infuses fast rapping as well. I highly recommend checking out both tracks!

@Metalhead Reactions The funny stuff at the end is from an instagram or whichever post one day that the comedian D'Elia posted one day driving in his car, and it became super popular. One thing about rap, from a former metal-head (Korn, Slipknot, Dimmu, Nightwish, System of a Down, Rammstein,..), when you start to study and understand more of lyrics it is very rewarding, cause there can be so much to a single Hip-hop song because of all the content (lyrics, words, wordplay, metaphors, references, punchlines, delivery, cadence , flow...). It is ironic that it is by this same fact that it can be very unappealing to first-time listeners, you're just like "what's going on here". After a while the noise turns to something you can comprehend and then it'll sound better as well, just like metal really, which also can be just noise to beginners.
@lukekearns42985 жыл бұрын

To answer the dude’s question at the beginning, if you listen to a fast song enough times, you’ll hear all the words. Also, if you listen to fast rap in general, it’s easier to hear what is being talked about. So really it’s just getting accustomed to that certain cadence and flow of fast rap.

Eminem hasn’t “lost his touch”, he wasn’t trying to be better than Logic. This is Logics album and Em respects that, he’s there to compliment Logic. Also, I think Em should’ve slowed down, Bc 98% of the bars went over your head.

It's only a small talk of... "just give it your best quality.". Eminem is completely againts mumbke rap today where they are less skillful in thier craft. Haha you guys make me laugh, personally I love both metal and rap so you guys are right there too. The reason I enjoy this song is the syllable timing and the subject matter the beat sets a tone and the message is clear, is a song with a message with two rappers at the top of their game mocking the hypocrisy of the rap industry. I have just watched your Speedom vid which is newer, on there I left a comment about knowing the history of things, in this vid you really show your lack of knowledge about the current state of hip hop (Mumble rappers vs Lyrical rappers)..... I love how you laugh at the ending with no context of the meaning and in some way I don't think Gill would have laughed as much knowing what it was connected to, not without being really invested in the culture anyway, so maybe you could do half a vid reacting and half a vid researching? it would defo get your vids up to KZbin algorithm length ;)

This isn’t a song that would be put on the radio. Rap artist (good ones) tend to structure their albums like projects. They will make a couple of radio songs, songs that are easy to follow, and catchy. The rest of the album is typically structured to encapsulate a theme. They will show of their skills, and try out new styles. A good example is Kendrick Lamar’s “Damn” album.

There are honestly a lot of genius references in this song that really wouldn’t be understood by anyone who hasn’t kept up with the rap genre. It’s basically about how the rap genre used to be about lyricism but a lot of the new stuff is just mainly a beat now with no message. im metalhead. What I like about this, is the speed, the delivery, the way he can still sound mad while going that fast. Imagine Slayer going that fast and sounding that angry, i mean slayer is honesly the only band who could do that, but they would sound much harder doing that than screaming "god hates us all" on a backbeat. Honestly listen to something more talkative than this with guitar sounds. I realise muricans dont have saviour genre identifiers but us EU people have, Listen to Maggies bookshop, and name me why that shit is bad. for real dude.

See its not really about the speed persay, i dont think logic is an incredible rapper. His early work was great although was heavily influenced by his peers which isn’t inherently bad but logic made the influences way too obvious. He raps fast and has an impeccable flow. The way he rides a beat and places his syllables and voice inflections makes for ah interesting listen. Eminem is focused more on complex rhyming structures more so than logic.
