Maybe Quasimodo's father did not think of Quasimodo as a human, as when he was crying as an infant, he referred to him as an "It". He also seemed to be particularly harsh when he ordered his wife to silence him, trying to get him to "shut up". This could either hint that he (like other people) was disgusted by his deformity and did not consider him his child, or this may have been because of the circumstances of their situation at the time.
@theenergetichopecat70062 жыл бұрын
I think that his father did not think of him as fully and was disgusted by his appearance. I think his father like other people didn’t like his appearance or how he looked so he was harsh with him. I think that his mother though was trying to silence him and he was still crying as a baby. And when she says hush little one she’s referring to her son, that’s what I think. Or even better, maybe his parents forgot to name him when he was first born so after he was born shortly after they were walking into Paris France, and his parents had no time to give him my name so his mother just said hush little one because she needed to address her son by something rather than in it like his father did. So I’m gonna say that if his parents forgot to name him because they were too busy trying to move to Paris with their son, that could be why his parents dressed him the way they did. That’s just my opinion. I also like to believe that if they were his parents, his father could have a been having a different kind of skin color and or have been possibly Irish or Scottish just my guess. I mean if both his parents were Romani, they could’ve possibly had darker skin than he did and he would’ve come out with lighter skin and ask for the red hair, I’m going to assume that that happened because of a genetic mutation. Because there are different types of mutations that can happen in the genetic system so one of them could possibly be for someone having red hair. And also for the deformities I like to believe that he had also a medical condition that happened. I think that Quasimodo was born was a medical condition of sorts which caused his deformities otherwise his appearance. But back then people didn’t know about this kind of science or genetic theory knowledge so people just assume certain things without having any scientific evidence to back it up. But from a scientist POV here, I like to believe that the deformity was all because of DNA mutation and the light skin is all because of less melanin and the red hair is also because of mutation and the deformity can be talked down to medical condition. But that’s just from a scientist POV and I am not a biologist or anything but I did learn this in my biology class last year at high school so I thought this was interesting and I thought I should point it out. And again if his parents had dark skin and were Romani, the light skin could’ve been very possible so yeah maybe his father was possibly Irish or Scottish. Which could cause this. But I just thought I should pointed out to you guys in the comments and I wanted to give a more scientific background on what I think it could’ve been the conditions of Quasimodo. Because I learned this stuff in biology class I learned about genetic mutation and I thought it was interesting and I said I’m gonna point this out to you guys in a Disney movie that I think it’s one of my favorites for a good reason. Because most people think that they weren’t his real parents but I’d like to digress and say that they were his parents but a lot of genetic complications happened which caused people to question in the comments where they his parents so yeah. If they were though I’m going to chalk it all down to a bunch of complications happened when Quasimodo was born and all went down into what we know is the huntchback of Notre dame.

Can I also add that the horse Frollo is riding is a gypsy vanner? They are the only horses with mane's like that and are a draft besides a fresian. That means Frollo had to have someone steal that animal from a breeder. They were created by the gypsy’s to pull their caravan's for their flashy appearance. And yet he calls the mother a thief? Love this movie for all it's little add ins.

@LaWrennie6 жыл бұрын
If we wanted to be super technical; I doubt it's a Gypsy Vanner. Even today, there are some people who don't love them because they are Romani horses, and there are free roaming, wild herds in some areas of Europe. Though Americans who love their looks, and willing to pay top dollar for them, are starting to change those people's mind. Even so, the Gypsy wasn't officially a breed until 1996. An elite like Frollo, isn't going to ride a mutt horse, he's looking for top quality of the day's standards because that was a sign of wealth. Based on the time period, Frollo's horse looks Friesian so it may be, though this time period is really when the Percheron started making real headway. Since the Percheron breed was developed in France, I'd bet it's that with some artistic liberties thrown in the design. :)
@miyuhitoshi5 жыл бұрын
Might be late to this, but Snowball is not a Gypsy Vanner, the inspiration for him came from the headless horseman and brom's horse. Further, he is more closer to a Fresian than a Gypsy vanner.

While Frollo chases the Gypsy woman, we hear the chant “Dies Irae,” meaning “day of wrath”. One might assume the Day of Judgment is for the Gypsy - but in reality, it is the Day of Judgment for Frollo. This is his test, to see if he will choose mercy over his twisted sense of justice. Why on Earth are you throwing a baby into a well?! Not only is it a monstrous act against a human being, but a dead baby in a well will definitely poison the drinking water.

I believe that frollo is villain in this movie because he called Quasimodo a monster because he was disfigured, but I think he was born with a hunchback, his own mother died trying to save him from him, but he deserved to die at the end of the movie because he kept him from the outside world beyond the notre dame canedral.

When he said "a tale of monster", the screen went dark, and I saw the reflection of my face and scared the crap out of myself
@DiloConHelio8 жыл бұрын
I understand The Hunchback of Notre Dame originally intended to be a dark and mature. And don't get me wrong, it is far from gleeful--- but certainly bleached over. Even as a kid, I yearned for a Disney content that would be serious and entertaining, and this film was so close that I can't overlook it as disappoint-ish; for many of my dearest scenes in animation rest within this gloom tale.

Can we just appreciate how unlike most villains in Disney, Frollo really killed the woman by accident and was horrified and instead of killing the “deformed baby gipsy” he saw in Quasimodo, he kept it as some form of penance? Unlike Scar who killed Mufasa outright or Hades who tried to get rid of Hercules multiple times and so on, he had a genuine human reaction even for a villain

Reflection on one’s beliefs and actions, and true honesty with oneself That’s how you prevent yourself from becoming as evil as Frollo Frollo views himself as a hero, it’s what many of us do It takes courage and honesty to admit when your actions have become corrupt Frollo was a coward, a liar, a monster, and all because he never took a look at himself from outside of his own perspective

Did Quasi's mother commit adultery? Both she and her husband are brunette, while Quasi is redheaded. Also, how can someone who died just by falling over give birth to someone strong enough to ring bells for 20 years?
@122817609 жыл бұрын
jacksonsay37 Little late but was never confirmed if she did commit adultery but for the other question, when Frollo kicked Quasi's mother, she got head trauma when her head hit the stairs around 1:31 ish and she might of cracked her skull because of it, instantly killing her.

Joanna B I don’t agree . There would be a lot of reasons for that “Shut it up “, but it don’t means that is not a fatherly thing. Sometimes my dad do that too.

Something I just noticed is when Frollo sees the baby of a woman he just gravely injured (as far as he knows) and disregarded, he IMMEDIATELY looks for a way to murder it. Absolutely evil.
