I bought one of these for 75 dollars replaced flywheel and got 650 out of it. It ran great. It would also charge a twelve volt battery

Did this motor have a rectifier installed to get the onboard generator to drop the voltage accordingly? I have a rectifier for this motor, and I cannot find where it mounts…any help would be greatly appreciated. Inside you no longer have the motor, by some long shot I figured you may remember. Thanks in advance!

The motor was sold years ago and I don't remember examining the wiring. For what it's worth, rectifiers do produce DC current but do not affect voltage in any way. I do remember that this motor would put out between 18 and 20 V if under a light or no load, so you had to watch the state of charge of the house battery and not overcharge it. One time, not realizing this, I tried to run the system with the battery removed, and it blew out some of my lights. No problem with a normal automotive battery installed, just don't overcharge. You can buy a rectifier and it doesn't have to be a special marine type, just has to be able to handle 20 or 30 V and as much current as you expect to pass through it.

Yes 60 Amp 12 volt
@alanb76Ай бұрын
60 watts, 5 amps if I remember correctly. 60 amps would be 1hp just for charging, it wasn't that strong.

Cj Smith they are spares for the prop
@alanb76Ай бұрын
Shear pins, if you hit rocks with the prop it will shear the pin to save the prop. Spare cotter keys for the prop.

Too bad you didn't contribute your expertise when was trying to sell it more than 3 years ago. Interesting, that bit was not covered in the owner information that came with it. But thank you for your snide and dismissive comment.
