The one with the red rancher actually knows how to get through mud. The guy with the outlaws knows how to have fun.

We always have fun when we ride! Yeah, that thing was certainly done. Those 420's are tough!!
@mudpimp12 жыл бұрын
Regardless of what it is or what size, what matters is that you have a great time riding it and it works for you.

got that right budd, i ride red and my old 01 350 fourtrax has never ever let me down or left me stranded. never been towed home, and all I do is mud and a bit of trail riding.
@mudpimp11 жыл бұрын
Well, when we ride, we ride in bottoms. If i rode more trails than bottoms, then I would go with the Mud Trax. They will probably last longer than the Zillas and are not as aggressive as the Outlaws. If you are concerned about the weight and power loss, then go with the Zillas. They are lighter. I hope this helps. Oh yeah, Check out the Mega Mayhem. Great looking tire. Never used them or rode with anyone with them but they look great!

We had too much fun that day!! His fourwheeler was done after that hole...

snorkel, that is the #1 thing I do before I ride a new atv. However, my riding style requires that. Not that I always plan on hitting deep water holes but sometimes you just don't know how deep a hole will be. For me better safe than sorry. If you don't have a snorkel kit, you just have to be selective & careful about the mud holes you take on.We ride with a lot of guys that dont snorkel. Die electric grease is great around electrical connections too. Always clean your atv & WD40 it after muddn.

Gotta love doing that solid axle Honda wobble
@AtvmudRid3r11 жыл бұрын
Ok thank you for the help! I like the Mud Trax a lot!
@mudpimp11 жыл бұрын
That is a really good atv. Are you referring to Kenda Executioners? If so, that are good pulling tires but they run small and are heavy. I would consider the Zillas. They are light and you will be able to turn them good. I would go with 27x 9 or10's on the front and 27x 11 or 12's on the back. A ot of people run 8 or 9" wide all the way around. I prefer a wider tire on the back. Check out the Silverback X-Lite and the Mud Trax.
@mudpimp12 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you should be ok. One more thing, Is your atv an automatic or a manual shift? If it is a belt drive (automatic) then you will need to snorkel the intake and and exhaust to the belt. Also, there are vent tubes that come out of your front (if 4wd) and rear differential. Not a bad idea to extend those. Keeps water out of the diff.
@mudpimp12 жыл бұрын
You are right about that. The honda is supposed to be the same way with the brake. I wish Honda would put a diff-lock on their atv's. If they can put a front and rear lock on their Big Ugly... I mean Big Red then they can do it on the atv's. I was tires of videoing but he did finally make it out.
@mudpimp11 жыл бұрын
What type of riding do you do? Serious mud riding go with Outlaws (26x12x12). You can also ride some awesome water wheelies with the outlaws!! Lots of trail riding and mud, I love the Mud Trax (27x11). My brother runs them on his 420 2wd and they are awesome. Zillas (28x12x12) are nice too.
@mudpimp11 жыл бұрын
Anytime man. I like them a lot too!! Great tires and last long!
@mudpimp12 жыл бұрын
What type of atv do you have? There a lot of good kits on the market. I bought mine from Mud Industries. Very nice kit!! You can build your own but if you do not feel comfortable, then I would just buy a kit. It is so important to make sure that the intake is sealed solid. Also, if u have a belt drive, then seal the belt intake and exhaust. I too think extending the exhaust is a good idea on lower compression/ smaller cc bikes. That way if the motor dies then it will not suck in water.
@trx420fm112 жыл бұрын
man those outlaws sure do demolish a mud hole don't they you should have asked the the dude on the red rancher with the swamplites on it to try it again after the dude with the outlaws dug it out;)
@mudpimp12 жыл бұрын
420 is a great atv. Good power to weight ratio. Sure it is straight axle and no diff-lock, but good all around atv!!
@2chickat1time10 жыл бұрын
Tapping the front break will help get that other tire moving.
@mudpimp11 жыл бұрын
I would not go any bogger than 27's. Some people go 28. Consider the new Silverback Lite. I think it will be a great tire, easier on your atv and a little lighter. Outlaws are awesome though!

I have a friend who loves them. I don't care for them. They wear too fast. They are however true to size if not a little taller than they claim.... which is a good thing. At least you get what you pay for. Most after market tires are not true to size and are shorter than they claim.

@mudpimp12 жыл бұрын
The only thing I can think he is referring to about getting a 4wd is the fact that people call hondas 3wd's because the only have the limited slip axles and no diff-lock and you rarely ever have all four wheels turning at the same time. Usually the front tire in the air is the one spinning not the one on the ground. Thats my guess.

Of all the different types of fourwheeling,this one to me, just doesn't seem like a good time (filthy,hard on the bike,expensive tires axle upgrades etc..). Now I'm not trying to start a war, but is there more to muddin then this? every video I watch is some poor fella tuggin and pulling and working his bag off to churn through a sluthole at 0.25 mph lol. seriously tho, I'm not trying to talk down anyone, I just don't get it. I'd rather blaze a path around something like that. I ride a stock 420FM

The honda atv i like the least would have to be the Rincon. Though I like the IRS, I really dislike the transmission. Probably ok for trail riding, but it sucks for mud riding. Also, the power is not impressive.
