Question I check my Exciter coil on continuity and it beeped and on oms nothing . 000 all the way it's a 7.5 hp. Any suggestions would help

How would you reset to timing on this motor? I am trying to sync the contact breaker and the main power output.

How did you bypass the neutral safety switch I have the same motor

Can you please provide spec.for Pulser coil in Ohm. I already replaced ignition coil now will replace CDI but never thought about checking Pulser coil. Regards

Measure the resistance between both wire leads. RESISTANCE: 120 ohm +-10% Best regards. Nikola

Hi Just watched your video. I have 8hp Honda with no spark on... When i measure my exiter coil from brown wire to the casing multimeter didn't bip but show some numbers. Not too sure if that's correct result to call that coil good?

EXCITER COIL (CDI TYPE) INSPECTION For Honda BF8A Measure the resistance between the wire lead end and the core. RESISTANCE: 330 ohm ±10% . Nikola (father)

So I have the same exact motor and noticed in the video the Cdi black module box on the top right of the carb and was wondering how important this was? I have been using the motor for the past 3 months with out really any issues and noticed that my motor doesn’t even have that part on it? Any information of how important that part is would help, thanks

If your motor does not have a CDI box it works with points and condenser. The CDI box, is for a digital ignition.

Sorry, sold the engine years ago. The engines are mostly the same.

Need some help I have this motor exactly I believe and it runs greats starts on first pull every time and runs quite but after about an hour it acts as if it is overheating...its still pissing water well and oil isn't over filled I was told maybe heat exchangers but I don't know electrical componets very well...if u have any ideas let me know or if you know where I can get any more info on these motors or preferable a parts diagram let me know thank you great videos

BF8A is the newer one that most parts will fit. They are hard to find. Google that and look on ebay. good luck.

Yes but not worth the money. I hear the cams and carbs are different. Why not get a BF15hp if you want more power?
