A lovely bike! If only I could afford it, I would buy two! One for my living room and one for riding. I did my lessons on a Yamaha MT07. That bike did nothing for me, zero feelings. My Transalp however, I love. Lolloper is a very good description, that's what mine feels like as well! Thanks for taking us along! Matthew

Hi Matthew, 😂 yup so would I!! It is a brilliant motorbike, I would imagine it would be in its element in Norway 👌. A proper adventure. I like mine but I ended up just commuting on it, which I thought was a bit of a waste for such a great adventure bike. I’m glad the Lolloper description made sense, the best way I could put it into words really. It is very comfortable and relaxing with the DCT gear box! All the best ☀️

"lolupping" is the engine lugging, which comes from you using the Drive mode that jumps to too high of a gear too fast, in Sport mode 2/3 you don't get that.

Yup that is exactly the feeling, I had a play with the gear box and it is much more responsive in Sport! 👍 I still do notice that 21" front wheel on the road though.

I had a 2017 AT and sold it because it was too soft on the road but am considering looking at the newer model. Were you able to adjust the electronic suspension to stiffen it up? Is the power and handling significantly better on the new model, particularly the cornering?

Yes you can adjust the suspension to change preload etc.. (stiffen up) This will help in the handling department. I would say the power is noticeable nicer on the 1100 models, but not night and day. Also I think the on road handling is very similar. Down to the 21" front wheel and long travel suspension.

Yup a great bike, there is something about it that I just don’t quite get on with. Don’t know what it is!! I prefer the Triumph Tiger 👍 Yup no doubt, so many people driving on their phones now 👎

I am 5 foot 9 inches and I find it OK. It is a tall bike though. Anything below 7 fooet 8 maybe tricky!
