Thank you for the video and your help. All gear shifts are great in my 2006 accord car. There is only a slight knock when going from 1 to 2. Could the problem be caused by this solenoid valve?
@ridiculousrobby Жыл бұрын
Is it a v6 accord? My accord v6 thunks into 2nd gear sometimes because my motor mounts are torn. I can hear my engine thunk when I give it decent acceleration from a stop
@KevinK3vin0Ай бұрын
That would probably be the shift solenoid, the one's shown in this video are the pressure solenoid, I believe.

Hey, great video! Quick question. I have a 04 Accord 4-cyl auto and I’ve owned it for about 5 years. Every time I accelerate from 10-20km/h and the car is in 2nd gear (traffic) it’s like there’s a delay in acceleration and the car kind of “jumps” when the power kicks in. This happens during regular driving not hard acceleration. Really hard to explain. But I’m not sure if this will solve my problem. Any ideas? Thanks

What was the main issue? Does it have anything to do with reverse not engaging?
@ridiculousrobby5 жыл бұрын
It should not. The reverse in these cars is a shift fork that is engaged by a solenoid. Mine accord slams into reverse but my Acura TL type s doesn’t. I’ll see if the solenoid that engages reverse can be replaced easily.
@glasser28195 жыл бұрын
@@ridiculousrobby I have TL'04 with the Reverse bang (mounts are all ok..!) let's cut the chase: I believe it's a wonky shift solenoid valve or a plugged filter screen ( the big round one on top) or ??
@ridiculousrobby5 жыл бұрын
G Lasser good point. My mounts are all good but it still slams into reverse. I haven’t changed the filter because I change my fluid often but I’ve heard about these filter just falling apart. Don’t know if it would effect the reverse shift though.

@@christophergrant1548 sorry for getting back to you so late, got locked out of my account. I would check the fluid with the car warm about 60 seconds after shutting it off. Make sure its filled and check the color of the fluid, if its really dark almost like black. Then changing the fluid might hurt it more. If it’s pinkish with some brown then you’re probably fine to change it. Checking and cleaning the solenoid screens like in the video is also not a bad idea on a high mileage car.

Nice video. I have a 2007 Accord with same v6 engine. I recently started having slightly delayed and harsh 1-2 shifting especially when engine is cold. It gets better when warmed up, but not best. I also noticed delayed 2-1 shifting. When slowing down, it tends to remain in 2 till I give it gas to move off, then it comes to 1. But absolutely no slipping. Oil is good level and not burnt, no much shavings the last time it was changed. I cleaned the solenoid, but it wasn't much dirty. Should I just change it? I don't want this harsh shifting to damage more things. Thanks
