Great Video. Did you end up replacing the rear sprocket? If so which did you go for?

Can I ask where u got the split link chain , as I would like to order and fit myself , I know some chains need a special tool to fit , thanks

I ordered it with the chain, I use to rivet the chain but the links are so handy. You can get them anywhere, I say amazon, wemoto, xlmoto. They all sell them

Is there a way to tighten the chain without using a C-Spanner?
@Yoke.2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use a flat head and a hammer to tap it, but it’s soft aluminium your hitting so it will end up getting damaged, have a look at this : Honda Bros NT400 Restoration Project Part 2 swing arm disassembly kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX6xlHt8qbuerNU @ 6 minutes . If it’s loose then gentle tap will do but most likely haven’t been maintained so you will damage it.

@@Yoke. would you say it would be best to buy one of those C spanner things? The bike I have, it has not been touched or taken apart since 2013 or maybe even longer.

@@TheirishHornet03 first get a torch and look from the back between the sprocket and the swing arm at the condition of the bearing notches. If they are in good condition then it’s a no brainier, you need the tool not to wreck it. If they are in bits then you have nothing to loose. When your adjusting the chain take the bolt out of the swing arm and spread the gap using a big screwdriver, this will make your life easier. Spray in some wd40 in there get it loosened up. After that follow the video on how tight the chain should be. You can buy the tool for about €15 so it’s not an expensive investment. Weemoto sell it or ebay

Is the rear sprocket the standard 44 teeth or have you gone for a custom one?
@Yoke. Жыл бұрын
It’s just a stock 44 teeth one
@TheirishHornet03 Жыл бұрын
@@Yoke. Ah okay, would you have any ideas ad to where I could find one that fits but with less teeth?
@Yoke. Жыл бұрын
@@TheirishHornet03 yeah, wemoto sell them, just search nt400, I think they ship anywhere. The definitely do a 43 teeth one

@@Yoke. I have seen a few 43 teeth sprockets around, I've seen as low as 41. But my plan was to try and get a 36 tooth sprocket to theoretically have a top speed of over 200kph lol. I think that would be an amazing achievement, 200kph on a 400cc 34 year old VTwin 😂

@@TheirishHornet03 😀 brilliant, I would love to see that, I haven’t seen a 36 one, but have you ever done 200km without a fairing, your holding on for your life.
