Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah bike is running, but because I took every nut and bolt off it, I want to be sure that it’s all good before I take her out for a spin. Exhaust will be very loud, looks great but time will tell if I can live with it. Trust me I can’t wait to take her out either.

Fantastic job, well done. Really enjoyed the build, have an old bros sitting in the shed for years, I feel sorry for it.

Thank you, and hopefully you got inspired. Like for most the 400 was a first proper bike. I liked them so much that I had 4 of them over the years and never needed to do much with them. This project turned out a bit more expensive then I had hoped for, but this was as bad as it gets. It’s the service stuff that’s expensive, bearings, seals, tyres. You would easily go through a grand just on that type of stuff. Good luck with your project.

Quality job done there. I'm afraid ive only done general service work and tyres on mine. Enjoyed your videos thank you.

Thank you and I am glad you liked them. This was a particularly bad example, every bearing on my bike was shot, most seals gone. This was a scrapper really. Yours is road worthy, that’s a success for a 30 year old bike

Thanks for sharing your building of this bike , I am also modifying a bros 650. Trying to decide what instruments to use
@Yoke. Жыл бұрын
650 is nice, I never owned one in all the years I drove them. There are some nice gauges on fc moto and they are not too expensive. Like I said in my previous response, the lack of oil pressure and temperature are two issues with the one I used

Thank you, I am keeping everything that I bring to back to life. You wouldn’t make any money on this, but at the same time you wouldn’t buy one in this condition since everyone just drove these bikes with very little maintenance so it’s hard to find a clean one.

I did, have a look at the video list.

How did the 120 front tire work out with this bike? I'm putting together a Hawk NT650 GT and I was told that installing a 120 front gets a little sketchy when hard cornering.
@Yoke.2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I suppose the style of bike is a bit different now, so I am not pushing it as hard. I only use it to tip around the city. Wel currently I am rebuilding the engine. But I sized up the back too, and that really the reason why I sized up the front, so I wouldn’t run out of tyre. I can’t say have noticed any issues, but this is a safety thing so you make your own call.

Looking for some help. Restoring a bros 400 and have run into a problem replacing clutch and discovered the rear pressure plate is cracked on the base of 2 of the bolt recivers. I was wondering if you might have one or know of anyone where I might get one.. I'm based in arklow, Wicklow

Why did you pick the instrument you used any particular reason, waiting to see a video of your bike on the road
@Yoke. Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t use it again, the guage is fine but it doesn’t have two major things, no temp, and no oil pressure. If you look at my other video you will see why the oil pressure would have been great. Yeah I had issues sourcing a good replacement engine, I have that now. I am actually building another Bros at the moment, but it’s to find the time . I will post something up of the bike driving
