There few ways you can take your carburetor off (taking the manifold off, leaving it on, removing the carb from the right side or left side), this video shows how I did it this particular time and its pretty easy!
Now, a word to the wise as the saying goes. Don't interfere with your carburetor unless you have a good reason. If you make a mistake your bike may run poorly or even not at all! Viewer discretion is advised!

Just bought a cb125e for my 15 yr old to putt around on at the farm. It is a repairable write off. Your vid on forks helped me get them sorted. Great to have a low key Aussie sharing this very helpful information.

Just found your video, very very helpful, my daughter has this model way up in Brisbane and it won’t start but has a good spark, she’s only ridden it 100 Klms from brand new, so I suggested the carb is prob full of old fuel and gummed up from sitting unused for so long. I am hoping she can do the job from your excellent video. I live 1500 Klm away so I can’t get there easily 😁. Cheers

Can I ask a question? If I want to lubricate my choke cable, do I need to remove it from the carb to prevent the oil going in? Also, is there any special precaution to take before removing it? You just pulled it out but maybe there is something to be aware of? Thanks again.

@@frikkiejacobs8858 Yes of course, I try to answer as many questions as I can but I sometimes miss a few. If you are lubricating your clutch cable from the top (choke lever side) I would not remove it from the carburetor, assuming you are using a light grade of oil or a silicon based lubricant. Its always a good practice when removing any component to make a note of how it comes off. Taking a picture can be very useful too! In this instance there is no particular orientation to be concerned about (from memory).

Hey great video. Just thinking of doing away with my airbox and running a k&n filter straight into carb. Any downsides to this? I guess I would have to rejet the carbs

You might suck in a little water too when it rains? I've not applied to much thought to that particular mod on a standard engine to be honest. The standard air box is fairly effective for a standard engine. I've run a 200cc engine through the airbox and a 28mm Mikuni and I didn't get the urge to start drilling holes :) Edit: I'm actually pretty conservative really...

@jeffrosamson just thought it might breathe a bit better. Is there any mods I can do you can recommend without dropping the big bore in?

I believe it would breath better personally. I have been considering various easy bolt on not particularly invasive ways to get a bit more performance out of the standard bike. The current pandemic has created supply problems so I haven't got any immediate answers that are tried and proven to work. The BOB project was designed to give us a standard engine to play with you see.... the test bike is about to get an engine swap as test engine number one has something special that we want to do reliability trials on. By the time those trials are complete we hope to have some goodies to test on number 3 (the engine formerly known as BOB).

Hey..thanks for the videos, they are very helpful.I have a Honda spada,it runs but it stalls cuts out when coming to a stop by the robot. The bike doesn't want to idle at low revs as it should. Is that a carburettor problem?... if yes then should I rebuild it?..Your spada vids helps me alot, thanks alot for these vids..

Your Spada has two carburetors, one for each cylinder. Not only should they be working as individuals but synchronized to each other! Can I suggest that you start with two basic tasks? Check that your air filter is not dirty to the point where the bike cant breathe and adjust your idle screw to the point where the bike idles stably. It should idle at around 1500rpm.

There are a few things that can stop your bike from idling properly, carburetors are just one thing that can cause this. What do your spark plugs look like for example? Clean, proper gap?

I just serviced the bike so the spark plugs are new,but I didn't check the gaps and instead of an air filter,I have a piece of clean foam in the air box.

Yeah I've adjusted the idle screw to between 2000-1500rpm,it cuts out between these revs.
