I had three of these whislt serving in the British military back in the late 70's early 80's. The last one kitted out for touring did 40,000 miles touring around the UK and Europe. I found them to be great machines even though they only had 34 horses. I've just gone and purchased a Triumph 400 speed because of this bike to tour Australia.

Nice bike. I had the earlier model 'dream' 400. Rode it nearly every day for over 12 years. My lad rode pillion on it as soon as he could. Great bikes.

I had a 400NC TOC180Y with reverse comstars with gold rims with black silver and blue paint work a handsome looking bike that went very well,wish I still had it.

Was close to buy one but ended up with a -81 CM400T instead and I don`t regret. Looks a lot better and runs the same

We were out at Oxford Classic Motorcycles. It was a nice thing. It has the power that the 250 needed.

Can CB250N be converted to CB400N engine wise? Would the lower half engine of 250N be compatible with 400N upper half?

Sorry, we don't know. We know people replace the full 250 engine with a 400 but we've never heard of anyone replacing just the upper half...there may be a reason for this...If you do have a go, please report back to us!

@@MotorcycleFettlers Thanks for the response! Yeah, researching on it. Majorly of the crank, gears, shafts and shifters are same on 400 as that of 250, then May be I will give it a try. Consulting some experts here in Bharat too to see if this is possible. Will let you know!

The 400N / 250N is the Super Dream

Same bike although the "Superdream" detail was omitted from the last "C" versions. The 250 disapeared immediately after the learner law changed and 400 stayed on for another year or so but was a poor seller because by now the VT500E had come out to rave reviews.

These bikes should never have existed. The 250s were worse (and more expensive) than the 250rs and the 400 worse than the cx. (I owned all 4 of those bikes back in the day)

Honda simple ohc design equal reliability and cheap to run n maintain.
