Just noticed that there's a loose nut on one of the throttle cables. Look just below the throttle.
@GoldGuyRides11 ай бұрын
Yep you're right. The throttle cable actually snapped after I filmed this video, luckily I was in my garage when it happened. It has since been replaced so no worries. Thanks for the warning though 😉

Traffic going 5 mph in the left lane. You need a 20mm canon.

Speaking from over 40 years of café racer building & riding experience, 5 weight oil is for rear shocks. You want 16 weight to 20 weight, depending on your own body weight. The weight of the oil determines the compression & rebound speed. If you want to move up into the expert suspension tuner league, you can blend 10 weight with ratios of 5 weight, to create 6W, 7W, 8W & 9W oil. Blending ratios of 20 weight with 5 weight or 20 weight with 10 weight, to create 11W, to 19W oil. There are actual ratio tables around, in books, for doing this. FFS, NEVER BLEND SYNTHETIC WITH MINERAL FORK OIL!!

It's worth noting as far as motorcycle safety goes, although the crash statistics are genuinely higher than cars, they do look worse than they are. Most of the crashes are people in their first year of riding, and particularly those dumb enough to drink and ride. Sportbike or not, if you make it through your first year of riding, the statistics of you continuing to make it go wayyyy up. That being said, always drive like everyone, including your own motorcycle, wants to kill you.

I've worked on bikes all my life, i used to think most bikes were cool. but nothing lasts. now i hate four cylinder bikes, it's just 4X the labor. that''s why i don't click videos with this bike in it. i think bikes should have one cylinder, maximum two if they're in a V-configuration. and i don't like wood-look-alikes. I DO like standard engines like GX200 / Clones, the GX690 V-twin. and rough things to put them on, like: Go-karts, johnboat with mud-motor, golf-cars and goofy shit like that. don't expect me to view more of your CB videos, I've seen enough CB's in my life.

😀 😃😃hey paoutoo I’m very much an old “boomer” and I have ridden and restored all types and I love to see the next generations getting pleasure from same passion as me. They are your bikes Goldguy enjoy them any way you like. I always look forward to yours and brick house builds. And like me we are only the custodians of our bikes trying to keep them together so that the next generation can put their stamp on them. 😄😄
