Yes, that nasty rear wheel slip was the worst I had this season. I've asked for it though. The tarmac on this stretch of road is tricky. It actually feels as if it provides good grip at first but it's not foolproof. You can lean in fairly quickly but you have to be very careful near the edge because you will be gone before you can reach it over there ;)
I actually wanted to upload my big Multistrada vlog today but since I recently updated my editing software from CS6 to CC I'm currently experiencing a whole new set of technical difficulties. Which I didn't have with the older versions... you'll have to wait until tomorrow evening I'm afraid. I am very sorry for those delays.
I myself learned something new watching my riding from this POV though. I didn't realize how far my knee is reaching down actually. I'm riding neutral (my body has the same lean as the bike) and I'm not moving my ass an inch in this video. But my mega long legs plus my state of complete relaxation almost lead to accidental kneedowns lol.

I subscribed only a few months ago and am going back to older vids. Nothing has really changed. Beyond Impressive skills, excellent video's, text commentary, you name it. This is the first "PEG View" i have seen and definitely need more of that in the new vids. I know editing takes forever but a split vid of the normal view and Peg view would be perfect. Back to more vid watching now. Big Thumbs up Schaaf

Funny I gave another talented rider a bit of advice gleaned from years of riding. He thought the same as you. He now lies in hospital with a broken neck and might never walk again. Advice is normally given with the best of motives, it is up to you to take it or leave it. Just hope you are near home when your gear change gives up!!!

Bloody good riding Schaaf ! ..if I'm nit-picking I noticed very frequent gear changes often constantly just as you're entering the bend and then out of the bend again ( I been doing the same thing myself until I went to advanced riding course ) ... less gear changes and going higher in the revs to again on the speed makes it actually faster and more stable. ..still very impressive and all the best !
@Schaaf

I'd love to see you going into the higher revs when there's a thing called rev limiter...

Schaaf fair comment, I should have guessed by your riding you're hitting a rev limiter 👌
@Schaaf

the old CB500 just produces "some kind of" power between 8K rpm and the rev limiter. If I want to have a somewhat entertaining ride, I'll have to keep the revs "up there" :)

it really is sick going back and re watching all your cb500 videos man. I love the way you ride.. i had a really bad crash that left me in a lumber back brace for 6 months. 2 months in the hospital before that. the only thing I wanted to do was ride as soon as possible. I've lost about 60% of my confidence. but I'm still riding. I just fear all corners at high speeds now. it was my first big crash and I was run of the road when over taking someone. they put their foot down and clipped me which sent me into a dyke. I never found out who it was. but I guess it was my fault, I had plenty of room and was carrying momentum from the previous corner. it was like a U shape and I could I was clear. but still I shouldn't have been riding like a dickhead. I just got some new leathers on and was trying to wear them in for a track day the next day. it all ended in tears. got the cb500 build back up and I'm still riding it today. they really are a bullet proof bike! mines has done 70k miles now and never missed a beat. I bought it on 48k. but yeah the thing is a beast. if you still have this cb500 van we request a new video? I miss it lol. keep it up bro.
@Schaaf
@Schaaf 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I'm glad to hear you survived that crash. My confidence isn't the same either ;) Yes I still have the CB but I don't have the time to maintain and ride it.
@EllaBananas
@EllaBananas Жыл бұрын
Going through some of this myself, I only wish there was something left of my cb300r to repair. Headstock is completely screwed, so even though the engine is probably fine, she'll never ride again, not without a new frame. Though in my case the crash happened on a day I decided I *wasn't* going to goof off. I was following the speed limit, using my signals diligently, and being as aware of my surroundings as possible, had multiple exit strategys planned, had chosen my lane position to give me more time to act if someone made an ilegal lane change, etc. And yet it all fell through. one car ran a stop sign on my right almost side swiping me, and once I had made sure they werent going to rearend me I turned my focus forward to find that someone had made an ilegal lane change and then for some reason decided to stop dead on a green light, all within the quarter second it took for me to make sure I didnt get rear ended. By the time I saw the car, there was no more than 10-15 feet between us, and I was still going 30mph. I mean I tried to slow down, but like, pfft, thats barely enough time and distance to transfer the weight onto the front end so like, yea. Didnt lock the front or anything, but, again, 30-0 in like 10ish feet? and for some reason the car had themself positioned so as to block any attempt I couldve made to filter so, yea. Oh due to laws in my state I was determined to be at fault. Because here any rear end collision is automatically the fault of the driver in the rear regardless of context. So instead I paid for the car drivers vehicle repairs and injuries. Meanwhile I'm left with a smashed bike, two broken wrists nearly a dozen broken ribs and one hell of a concussion, plus a shitload of medical debt I'll never be able to pay for.
@EllaBananas
@EllaBananas Жыл бұрын
Still gonna ride again tho. My wrists are already strong enough again, so with some luck Ill pick up a gs500e or something like that in the not too distant future.

@@laurenzolau2666 the bike doesn't really lean more. I've ridden roughly the same, with the same hardened suspension. Stock exhaust though. That touches the ground next. Then something very much rigid. Main stand perhaps. There's not much to gain there.

This vibration is due to the engine fighting against the rear wheel because their speed are not matching during hard brake. Slipper clutch are made to counter that effect.

It could be rear wheel skipping with heavy braking??
@jezzamarkham5285
@jezzamarkham5285 8 жыл бұрын
Anything to do with rear wheel skip my dad (RIP) used to call "Scrabbling". It is the tyre talking to you saying "i'm nearly going to loose grip completely". Mojo is right too same end result, rear end skipping (or scrabbling) Ride Safe to you and Mojo.

@Schaaf
@Schaaf 8 жыл бұрын
