Right in the middle of this job now on my CB750F2. Wouldn’t idle and hard to start so ordered a rebuild kit and once it arrives this video will be invaluable. Thanks so much for posting. 👍

Hey Emerald Oasis! It's totally doable! If anything, just take lots of pictures with your phone as you go, and you'll get it back together, no sweat! I felt much the same way when I started doing carburetor rebuilds, and taking lots of pictures helped significantly. Once you get your first one done, you'll look back and wonder why you were so worried! Dive in! :D

Thanks for this video man. I’m having issues with a cb750 I just got that supposedly has 900 carbs on it. So as you can tell I got my hands full lol. I’m hoping I can get a 750 carb rebuild kit and install it into the 900 carbs as I’ve heard their the same carbs just different jets.

Hey Dylan! You can find all of the appropriate initial carburetor settings in the service manual. Grab a copy from my website! Click the Manuals link, and then you should see Honda CB650 (1979 - 1982) - Service Manual.pdf there. The settings for the 650 carb should be close enough to get you started! www.blastworks.net/

Can you tell me where you set the idle screws on this carb set up? I’m finding different information on the stock factory setting. Thanks in advance!
@blastworks
@blastworks 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Bill! Usually I'll put both the idle adjust and the air fuel mix screw in all the way until the lightly seat, and then back then out 2 full turns. Once the bike is running, I tweak things until the bike is running good. Then a quick ride and double check on the plugs to make sure things aren't running too rich or too lean!

How do you get the pilot jet out is it pressed into the carb?
@blastworks
@blastworks 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Anthony! Some carbs have idle jets threaded in to the body and some have them pressed in. Usually they'll thread right out if threaded in. If they are pressed in, you can usually lightly grab them with vice grips or pliers and with a combination of turning and pulling, you can work them out. I did that with the idle jet in my recent Honda XL 125 carb rebuild video. Yes, that may end up putting some light scratches on the outside of the idle jet body, but it will not impact how the jet performs.
